SUMMER VACATION IN SIPALAY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL
Contents
This summer a lot of people would like to go to the beach for a vacation. Not as noisy and crowded as Boracay, Sipalay is no doubt another best offering of the Visayas to world. Unlike Boracay, Sipalay doesn’t have the stores , and all other commercial features which might ruin the natural beauty of the place. I love the crowd of Boracay, in fact I also enjoyed all the parties offered by the island. However, if you choose to enjoy real nature, snorkeling and island hopping , Sipalay is the place to visit.
No Public utility vehicles plying the southern Negros route pass by this city. All roads leading to this southernmost city are fully asphalted.
Famous Landmarks
Philex Gold Mines in Brgy. Nabulao is one of the special destination ideal for industrial tours. It is 15 kilometers away from the national highway. Maricalum Mines was once a thriving mining community with complete facilities like hospital, wet-market, a school and an airstrip until it was shutdown. It has an open pit that looks like a big lagoon. The place is accessible all year round and is only two kilometers away from the national highway.
Beach Resorts
Campomanes Bay is a favorite dive site for safari divers with its beautiful coral gardens and sunken warships. It has an enticing pristine waters and white sand beach.
Sugar Beach formerly called Langub Beach is a long stretch of sugary light brown sand with pristine blue waters. There are high quality standard resorts in this fine stretch of sand. They are the Taka Tuka Beach and Diving Resort, Bermuda Beach Resort, Driftwood Village Resort, Sulu Sunset Resort and Langub Beach Resort.
Punta Ballo Beach is found on the other side of the Sugar Beach. This place boasts of first class diving resorts like Artistic Diving and Beach Resort and Easy Diving Resort. Nataasan Beach Front is also found in this side. This area is blessed with white sand and cool blue waters.
15-minute boat ride from the city proper is the Sugar Beach – German, Swiss and Filipino-owned resorts line this sugary beach, which offers an excellent place for swimming, and various water sports activities.
Not far from the Sugar Beach is the Tinagong Dagat – a hidden sea sprinkled with a dozen islets covered with lush vegetation. The sea bottom is covered with patches of sea grass beds, with the shoreline lined by old-growth mangroves.

Hello! Was wondering how to get to Sugar beach from Punta Ballo? Thanks!
I would like to try Tinagong Dagat this coming December. The place is beautiful.
Yes it is. Have a Happy TRip!
Beautiful place! I wonder where the pictures # 9,10,11,12 be found in Sipalay? The ones with the bridge, mountain and sea? Thank you….
Tanx for dropping Cristina…beaches and places in Sipalay are just close and connected…you can just ask as soon as you are there
love this place..i think even better than boracay..just sad that most resorts are owned by foreigners already….locals made their resorts exclusive…hope that someday some filipino rich will put up a resort and share with with the public..not for free of course..:)
Yes this is not as noisy as Boracay…great diving site!
Tanx for dropping..enjoy your trip!
I want to go in that beach hopefully this week..
