For those who will be coming to the city for the first time here’s some useful information you might need.
New Airport
For people who will be travelling by plane, the city is just 45 minutes flight from Ninoy Aquino International Airport and 30 minutes flight from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Upon reaching the airport, you have the option to get a taxi for an approximately PhP 5000 , or take a van along with other passengers for PhP 150 in going to the city. The trip would take an approximately 20 minutes Bacolod-Silay Airport to city proper.
Sea Ports
If you will be travelling by boat, the Banago and BREDCO Ports are the entry points in Bacolod City . It has daily access to and from Iloilo City , with various shipping lines such as Supercat, Weesam Express, and Ocean Jet. Below are their rates and schedules:
By boat, the City of Smiles is 18 hours from the Port of Manila and 45 minutes from the Port of Iloilo depending on sea conditions .
Land routes
Bacolod City has two main roads, Lacson Street to the north and Araneta Street to the south.
By land-RORO-land, the city is approximately 3 hours from Iloilo City via Dumangas route.There are four ROROs servicing Bacolod-Dumangas Route every day” Millenium hipping, Montenegro Shipping, Jomalia Shipping, and Tri-star. One can bring their car to and from Panay Island via these ROROs.

By land-ferry-land, Bacolod City can be reached at approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes from Cebu City via Toledo City–San Carlos City–Salvador Benedicto–Murcia route. By land-RORO-land, the city can be reached at approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes from Cebu City via Tabuelan–Escalante City route.
Its nice to visit western visayas especially that you can bring your car through RORO!!!
