STAR FERRY | HONGKONG ATTRACTION
Growing up, I’ve always dreamt of riding in a cruise and experiencing a magical moment whole on board. Who would not be? With the romantic ambiance matched with a spectacular view, everyone will surely fall in love with the idea of joining a cruise. When such childhood dream of mine came into reality, I was just at the peak of my happiness. It was as magical and as fancy as I imagined it to be.
Star Ferry Cruise, that’s the specific cruise that I got the chance to experience. This cruise is a recreated version of 1920 ferried which used to go in the same direction. With its grandeur and beauty, you would for sure feel that you’re a part of ancient history or an actor in an amazing Hollywood film. The peak of the cruise is the crossing on the Victoria Harbour area, where you get to see both great sides of the Hongkong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula.
All you have to do is sit back and relax, as the cruise begins to journey in the different routes, allowing you to see the iconic landmarks from a different point of view. If I may suggest, I also urge you to do this cruise at night! This will allow you to catch the 8:00 pm Symphony of Lights show while on board. While the rest of the other tourists are looking for places to watch the show, you have to sit still and witness the spectacular show paired with a fireworks display.
Is it expensive to try this cruise? The answer is no. They also offer amazing concessionary fare discounts, or a discount for children with the age of three to twelve years old, senior citizens with the age of 65 and above, persons with disabilities, as well as those who would purchase bulk or group tickets (minimum of 20). The cost for an adult of a single ride day trip ticket is only HK$105 (HK$95 for concessionary), the single ride night trip is HK$190 (HK$171 for concessionary), while the Symphony of Lights Harbour Cruise is only HK$215 (HK$194 for concessionary). To avail the discounted rates, you have to be sure to avail the tickets at the actual purchase counter and not with other partner ticket sellers. With these fantastic deals, I am sure that the money that you will pay will be worth it!
Additionally, you can also redeem or purchase your snacks and drinks on board. This is because bringing of food and drinks from the outside is strictly prohibited. So, be sure to get your favorite drink as you enjoy the cruise journey.
All in all, I can say that experiencing the Star Ferry Cruise is one of the top achievement I had since I got to fulfill my childhood dream. With all the views and sceneries that I have seen while on board, plus the amazing music and the excellent company of fellow tourists, this trip was indeed an unforgettable and one of a kind.
