No doubt, cashless transactions are now a big trend, especially in this time of the pandemic. We transact more on a cashless basis; we often use our cards when buying online, in supermarkets, and department stores. We found it easy to send money to our family members even if they have any bank account; we use various platforms to do this.
One popular option we have right now is the Grabpay wallet.
What is GrabPay?
Grabpay is a part of the Grab Application that serves as your mobile wallet. It is so easy to pay for any services using this platform. What makes this even more legit? Well, they are duly licensed by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Benefits of Using GrabPay Wallet
- Any services that you would want to avail yourself of within the Grab Application, you can pay using your mobile wallet.
- Grab offers some perks when you use GrabPay. Each time you book for a GrabCar, the application will prompt you to use your “payment method,” either credit card/debit card or GrabPay. Notice that that fee for GrabPay is much lower than when you opt to use your credit card.
- Shop online and use your GrabPay to pay. Even if you have no credit card, it is now easy to purchase online using a mobile wallet.
- Use your mobile wallet to pay your bills. Many utility companies are now accepting Grabpay for payment of bills.
- You can also buy prepaid loads using GrabPay.
- The more you use your mobile wallet, the benefits you will get because you will be earning rewards each time you use your mobile wallet.
How to Use The GrabPay Wallet
First, you need to install the Grab Application into your phone. If you are already using the app, then all you have to do is to set up the GrabPay. Please take note that you will be prodded to provide some documents like a valid ID to verify your identity.
Within the Grab application, you need to do is to activate your GrabPay wallet. The moment it is activated, upgrade it to premium so that you can access all the features of the mobile wallet.
What are the Requirements you Need to Prepare
Get ready to prepare any of the following valid identification cards/documents:
- TIN ID
- NBI Clearance
- UMID
- Passport
- SSS ID
- Postal ID
- Driver’s License
- Voter’s ID
Steps to Activate your GrabPay Wallet Account
- Grab Application must be installed on your phone
- Open the app and from the Grab dashboard, click on the Payment icon.
- Click to Activate your GrabPay Wallet.
- Provide your legal name that is provided on your valid ID.
- Provide the type of valid ID you have prepared and enter the ID number.
- Encode your home address.
- Your Basic GrabPay Wallet is now activated.
Upgrading Your Wallet to GrabPay Premium
- Open the Grab dashboard, click the Payment icon.
- Click to Verify Your Profile.
- You will be asked to provide the source of income as well as the nature of work from the menus.
- Make sure that the address you provided can be seen in your ID.
- A representative of Grab will verify your entity and your ID.
- Wait for the notification 9this is very short) that your GrabPay is now upgraded.
Accessing Your GrabPay Card
- The moment your GrabPay Premium Wallet is activated, you can already access your digital GrabPay card. This will serve as your debit card for online payments.
- From the Grab dashboard, click on the Payment icon.
- Click the Settings icon. It is found in the upper right corner.
- Click your GrabPay card to access your card number and CVV.
Securing Your GrabPay Wallet
You can secure your GrabPay using a GrabPin. This is part of the Grab app as a method of securing your mobile wallet, which includes a 24/7 fraud detection engine that encrypts and protects your personal information and your payment transactions.
- From the Grab dashboard, click on the Account icon in the lower right corner.
- Click on Settings, then click on Set Up a Pin.
- Now, you may Enter and confirm your nominated PIN.
- Your PIN is now active.
How to Load Your GrabPay Wallet
It is so easy to load your GrabPay Wallet using your credit or debit card, online banking, or Grab’s partner outlets.
Loading Your GrabPay Using Credit/Debit Card
To make loading easier, you should activate GrabPay’s auto cash-in feature. Bear in mind that the amount you will load via credit or debit card can’t be transferred to your contacts or other bank accounts.
- From the Grab dashboard, click your GrabPay balance located at the topmost part. You can also click the Payment icon that is found at the bottom part.
- Select Cash-In after which then click Cards and Wallets.
- Enter the exact amount you want to load that is at least PHP 200.
- Select your credit or debit card from the choices in the payment method before clicking Confirm.
- Your GrabPay Wallet will now show your updated balance.
Setting Up Auto Cash-In
- From the dashboard of the Grab app, select your GrabPay balance found at the topmost part. You can also choose to click the Payment icon located at the bottom part.
- Select Cash-In, then select Cards and Wallets, and then choose Auto Cash-In.
- Set a fall below the balance and the exact amount you wish to cash in when you reach the below balance.
- Select your credit or debit card from the choices provided in the payment method before clicking Save.
Loading via Online Banking
- From the dashboard of Grab, select your GrabPay balance located at the topmost part. You can also choose to click the Payment icon found at the bottom part.
- Click Cash-In, after which click Online Banking and ATM.
- Enter the exact amount that is at least PHP 200.
- Select your mode of payment from the choices provided below. If, for example, you have a
- BPI account, click BPI ExpressOnline. For other banks, click Online Banking. When done, click Submit.
- If you selected the BPI ExpressOnline, your payment would now be processed via BPI.
- If you choose Online Banking, you will be redirected to a list of online banks. You need to choose then your bank and indicate your email address before clicking Continue.
- Select the payment reference number to pay the cash-in amount using your online banking selected app.
- Your GrabPay Wallet will now show your updated balance.
Loading Your Grabpay wallet via Partner Outlets
- From the dashboard of Grab, tap your GrabPay balance located at the topmost part. You can also choose to click the Payment icon located at the bottom part.
- Click Cash-In then click In-Store.
- Enter the exact amount that should not be less than PHP 200.
- Select the store nearest to you from the choices of payment method, then click Submit.
- Select the payment reference number to pay the cash-in amount from the store you chose.
- Your GrabPay Wallet will now show your updated balance.
Paying for Grab Services with GrabPay
Paying for Grab Rides
- From the dashboard Grab dashboard, tap the Car icon.
- Choose your pick-up and drop-off points.
- Select GrabPay as your payment method.
- Click book.
Paying for GrabFood
- From the Dashboard of Grab, click the Food icon.
- After placing your order, proceed to checkout by tapping the basket icon located in the lower right corner.
- At checkout, select GrabPay as your payment method.
- Click on Place Order.
Paying for GrabMart
- From the dashboard of Grab, click the Mart icon.
- After choosing your order, proceed to checkout by tapping the basket icon located in the lower right corner.
- At checkout, select GrabPay as your payment method.
- Click on Place Order.
Paying for GrabExpress
- From the dashboard Grab, click the Delivery icon.
- Input your delivery details.
- Before clicking the confirmation of your delivery, select GrabPay as your payment method.
- Select Confirm and Book.
Shopping with GrabPay
- You may use your GrabPay Wallet to pay purchases for both your online and in-store. Many sellers now accept GrabPay as an option for payment method.
Paying for Online Purchases
- At checkout, select GrabPay as your mode of payment.
- Input the mobile number registered to your Grab account.
- Enter the six-digit code sent to your number.
- Review your purchase before clicking Confirm Payment.
Paying for In-Store Purchases
You can also pay for your in-store purchases by scanning the store’s QR code or letting the store scan your GrabPay QR code.
Paying via Store’s QR Code
- From the dashboard of Grab, click the Payment icon.
- Click on Pay under the Quick Actions tab.
- Scan the store’s QR code through the Grab app.
- Swipe to pay the amount.
- Your payment is now complete.
Paying via Your QR Code
- From the dashboard of Grab, click the Payment icon.
- Click on Pay under the Quick Actions tab.
- Swipe up to display your QR and barcode.
- Let the store scan your QR code.
Paying Your Bills with GrabPay
- From the dashboard of Grab, click the Bills icon. Select your biller from the list.
- Provider your account number and the amount you need to pay.
- Click Enter and wait for your balance to show your payment.
