Si.Pud Bar & Grill: A Group’s Enthusiastic First Visit
Contents
An Exciting Evening Out
One evening, my friends and I were excited about a new adventure. We often explore different dining spots in Bacolod City, and on this occasion, our group included Lei Lani Dusaban, Jojo Bayona, and Sonny Cabahug—fellow co-teachers from USLS. The excitement was palpable as we discussed where to go. Jojo Bayona had recently watched a vlog that raved about Si. Pud Bar & Grill, and his enthusiasm was contagious. Located at the bustling corner of Tindalo Ave and Hilado Streets, it seemed the perfect destination for our impromptu night out.
As we walked into the restaurant, we were filled with anticipation. The warm and inviting atmosphere instantly made us feel we were in for a treat.
A Welcoming Vibe and Attentive Service at Si.Pud Bar & Grill
The ambiance of Si. Pud Bar & Grill was immediately appealing. The space was open and comfortable, and the cleanliness of both the dining area and restrooms did not go unnoticed. The staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and were attentive throughout our visit, ensuring we felt well cared for. They even joined in on our fun, snapping photos of our group as we settled in. The lively and friendly service added to the overall excitement of our evening, making us feel completely at ease.
Making Our Choice: The Menu’s Temptations at Si.Pud Bar & Grill
We were eager to explore the menu, which featured a range of seafood options and classic Filipino dishes. While some prices were slightly above what we typically paid, the selection was intriguing. After a quick discussion, we decided on the Si.Pud Platter for ₱1,499. This platter included calamari, buttered chicken, crispy pata, and rice—a combination perfect for sharing. The crispy pata, in particular, piqued our interest, and we couldn’t wait to dig in.
The Taste Test at Si.Pud Bar & Grill: A Blend of Highs and Lows
When our platter arrived, we were eager to start our meal. The crispy pata exceeded our expectations—it was perfectly cooked, with a satisfying crunch and rich flavor that had us all smiling. However, our excitement was tempered when we tried the other dishes. The calamari and buttered chicken were disappointingly bland, lacking the bold flavors we had hoped for. The calamari, which tasted almost identical to the chicken wings, seemed to have been cooked in the same oil, resulting in a monotonous flavor profile that left us underwhelmed.
Reflecting on the Experience at Si.Pud Bar & Grill: A Mixed Bag
As the evening drew to a close, our feelings were mixed. The anticipation and excitement we felt at the start of the night had faded somewhat due to the lackluster flavors of the meal despite the excellent service and pleasant atmosphere. While the crispy pata was a standout dish, the rest of the platter didn’t quite live up to the high expectations set by Jojo’s glowing review.
We left Si. Pud Bar & Grill hopes the management will take feedback like ours to heart and make necessary kitchen improvements. With a few tweaks, this place has the potential to become a favorite in Bacolod City. For now, though, it’s a spot we’re glad to have tried, but we’re in no rush to return until the flavors match the delightful ambiance.
