Barangay University EP and the University of Eastern Philippines

Barangay University EP and the University of Eastern Philippines

Have you ever heard of a Barangay that is called a University? Yes, in Catarman, Samar there is a place called Barangay University EP, the barangay which the University of Eastern Philippines is located.

I have just concluded my training for the staff of the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundations (NWTF) in Catarman , Samar. Knowing that I am a travel blogger, Miss Tess Nunez, the Training Manager of NWTF arranged a trip for me   to see the town. The staff of NWTF decided to bring me to Catarman White Beach.

On our way to the  White  Beach, we pass by the University of Eastern Philippines. I was happy seeing such a big university existing  and serving the people in this part of the country.

University of Eastern Philippines White Beach. The university is so huge in terms of land area, that even this White beach belong to their teritory

I asked for a short stop   for some photo ops and to ask a few information about the place. After having our souvenir photo ops we went ahead to our main objective– to see  Catarman’s  white beach.

In the entire region of Eastern Visayas, the University of Eastern Philippines is the only state university which offers large numbers of programs at the  undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate education. Which means that people in this area need not go far to study  or to obtain post-graduate studies.

Yours  truly Inside the University of Eastern Philippines

The University of Eastern Philippines takes pride   in catering to the human resources and socio-economic development they pursue through the years. Just any other educational institution, the university  has gone through significant stages of development until it finally attained a university status and became one of the nationally known higher education institutions in the country.

I really enjoyed my visit at the University of Eastern Philippines White Beach. With me in this photo are staff of the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF)

While the University of Eastern Philippines has fairly succeeded in meeting its goals and objectives in the past years, via its existing programs, projects, and activities, it shall remain a potent partner not only in human resource development but also in bringing about better living conditions for the underprivileged sector of society.

Kudos to the management and all the people behind the Univeristy of eastern Philippines.

  • Thanks for the nice review!
I grew up, lived and studied in UEP and have flown to other parts of the globe and I am proud to say that the education I earned from this learning institution is at par with any western education in the rest of the world.
