A Visit to La Salle Eco Park

I will be conducting a Teambuilding Seminar to a venue which I haven’t seen yet, The La Salle Eco Park at Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City. Actually, when I was still active riding my bike, we would normally pass by in this place each time we go to Brgy. Alangilan. But we never went inside because the place is gated. So, when I was informed that the La Salle Eco Park will be the venue for our Teambuilding I immediately requested for a site visit so that I will be able to prepare my activities that will suit  the place.

When we arrived we were greeted by the Officer-In-Charge of the place, Ms. Ligaya Castor. Ms. Castor used to be our colleague in the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) when she was still with the Human Resource Department of the University of St. La Salle.

Ms. Castor, gave us a tour of the park.

They have a new hall with rooms on the second floor available for groups with overnight activities. They have cabanas, picnic huts, swimming pools for children and adults, a fishing lagoon, camping and picnic grounds, and campfire ring for recreation and leisure. There is also the Butterfly Park, a notable spot which beholds over 20 different species of butterflies.

The Granada Ecological Park offers services such as day retreats and recollections, family and community picnics, group tours and outings,  training camps, field trips, and other special events.

The Ecopark is suited not only for  seminars, recreation, and leisure. It is also a venue that offers facilities intended for environmental education as well as for field laboratory research.

The Eco Park is open to the public, like students and teachers, professional societies, civic organizations, non-government organizations, and corporations which they can use for different occasions and purposes, like company, group and family outings, recollections, retreats, picnics, field trips, and many more.

 

HOW TO GET THERE:

The Eco Park is about 16 kilometers from the Kilometer Zero in the Provincial Capitol Lagoon and Park. It is part of the 55 hectares the University of St. La Salle (USLS) Granada campus. It is accessible by public transportation. If you are coming from Bacolod, you can take the Jeepney from Burgos Market going Brgy Granada and from Brgy. Granada, you can take the tricycle to the park.
