TUP Visayas Teambuilding at Camp Learning Talisay

TUP Visayas Teambuilding at Camp Learning Talisay

It was a physically draining day but totally fun and enjoyable day for me when I conducted a Teambuilding Workshop for the Administrative Council Members of the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas  (TUP). The Workshop was held at Camp Learning Picnic and Camping Grounds at Hda. Sta. Maria, Purok Simboryo, Talisay City.

That was my first training engagement with TUP but I was totally at home with group. I Nona Escandelor, TUP Asst. Director for Administration and Finance was a fellow Toastmaster and a colleague way back our at the Philippine Society for Training and Development (PSTD) . The Campus Director Dr. Leonor Validor was also a fellow in PSTD.

Before I started the workshop I was surprise when greeted by participants  Dr. Edgar Monserate a batchmate in my PhD at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos and Melinda Sisles, another fellow Toastmaster.

The day was filled with fun and laughter as the participants  indulged in the activities I prepared and was open enough to laugh at my jokes. Everyone had forgotten their positions and academic titles which made our day , truly a HAPPY TRIP.

About TUP-Visayas:

The TUP-Visayas was established in 1977 as one of the three prototype technician institutes/projects of the National Government. TUP-Visayas was then known as the Visayas Technician Institute (VTI).

In 1978, the Philippine College of Arts and Trades (PCAT) was converted into the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) and was designated as the apex of technology education. Accordingly, the VTI was placed under the management of the TUP. In 1985, the VTI was renamed into the Technological University of the Philippines – Visayas.

Today, the TUP-Visayas is one of the top providers of engineering education in the country, producing topnotchers in the Professional Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).http://www.tup.edu.ph/page/campuses/tupvisayas
