Organized by he Filipino-Indian Community in Bacolod City, Diwali Festival originates from countries like Nepal and India . The celebration is considered as one of the most important events in India.Diwali refers to “festival of the lights” and Indians mark the day as good triumphs over the evil.

Bacolod Celebrates the Festival of Lights… DIWALI 2014

The 2nd Diwali Festival in Bacolod City is set on November 7-9,2014 .

DIWALI 2014 FESTIVAL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

• Nov. 7: 10am – 6pm Exhibit preview on the “Different Facets & Faces of India” @ the People’s House Lobby (NGC)
• Nov. 8: 10:30 – 11am Official opening ceremony of Diwali Festival 2014 and Indian Exhibit @ the People’s House Lobby (NGC)
• 11am – 6pm Ongoing Indian exhibit @ the People’s House Lobby (NGC)

ACTIVITIES @ the NORTH CAPITOL ROAD & LACSON ST. (Lagoon):
• Nov. 8: 10am Start of Kiosks
• 10:30 -12:30nn Culinary competition on Indian cuisine
• 1pm – 5:00pm Film showing of Indian songs and dances
• 5pm – 7:30pm Full length Bollywood Movie
• 7:30pm – 8:15pm Indian Fashion by eModels Asia
• 8:30pm till… Electric Masskara – Indian Banggara /
• Giddha Dancers – Belly Dancers
• Party till wee hours

• Nov. 9: 8:30 – 10:00am Zumba Dance in the tune of Indian music
• 10am – 11:00am Ayuverda & Yoga technique intro film show
• 10am – 10:00am Start of kiosks – Street foods, grocery & wares
• 11am – 12 noon Chants – Tabla beaters
• 2pm – 4:30pm Chai (Indian Tea) & Indian snacks at kiosks
• while listening to Indian melodies thru the

• 5pm – 7:30pm Full length Bollywood Movie
• 8pm till… Street party
