SIR JESS DELI & CAFÉ GRAND OPENING
We were invited at the opening of Sir Jess Deli and Café at Dona Juliana Heights Subdivision, Bacolod City, Negros occidental. The restaurant is located inside the subdivision–it’s the owner’s house actually converted into a restaurant.
.
Pesto and Oregano Piyaya
I was impressed with their tagline: “From Our Farm to Your Table”. The restaurant claimed that all ingredients came from their farm and were grown organically. I’ve checked their menu and they offer a wide array of food selections. Unfortunately, I cannot write about things I haven’t tasted. So I will be writing about these dishes once I can visit the place again. Anyway, we were given some stuff for our review.
.
Kalamansi with Oregano Extract Drink.Oregano is used for respiratory tract disorders such as coughs, asthma, croup, and bronchitis. It is also used for gastrointestinal (GI) disorders such as heartburn and bloating. Other uses include treating menstrual cramps, rheumatoid arthritis, urinary tract disorders including urinary tract infections (UTIs), headaches, and heart conditions (www.webmd.com)
While waiting for other guests, we were served Calamansi Juice with Oregano Extract. It’s a very healthy drink, but has the distinctive sharp taste and flavor of oregano. I believe this would be best if served ice chilled.
.
“Pinitaw with Fried Rice mixed with Oregamix”. I fried the Pinitaw to make it a bit crispier, then I made a fried rice with Oregamix
My most favorite of all is the “Pinitaw” or the Bottled Quail Adobo Flakes. This delicacy can just be reheated or you may fry it until crispy. I guess this delicacy is perfect for breakfast and when paired with fried rice mixed with “Oregamix”, another product of Sir Jess Deli & Café. The oregamix is a combination of fried garlic with chopped oregano. Oregamix is simply perfect for fried rice as it gives a distinct and different twist to your fried rice. The Oregamix can also be used in your pasta, soup and other dishes.
I also like the twist they put in the already famous Bacolod Piyaya. By adding Pesto and Oregano as additional flavor , this sweet delicacy became even more healthier. What I like about their Piyaya was that the added flavors were not overpowering. It still tasted like piyaya but with a distinct taste of the herbs which I believe very refreshing.
.
“I need to try the Sara-Sara Coffee with Oregani Piyaya while writing this article”
Sir Jess Deli and Café also have a caffeine free coffee. This is what they call “Sara-Sara”. I am very familiar with Sara-Sara since childhood. Sara-sara is made from roasted organic brown rice with lemon grass. For coffee drinkers who are used to the real coffee, this one might come as a surprise. It may take some time for one to get accustomed to the taste of this coffee. But it’s worth a try and tell me your thoughts once you tried it.

sana:) but they are just starting :)
Exactly, proudly Philippine made :)
yes the flavor is refreshing :)
Looks like a good restaurant that serves homegrown products. I love piaya but it's the first time I learned about pesto piaya.
How much is their piyaya? It's one of the kakanins that I love to eat! And good thing it's a lot healthier!
I agree that their slogan proves that whatever you eat on the table is fresh from the farm and it means, it's healthy and safe! :)
Nice concept and nice fine place. Their foods looks really awesome and delicious.
Wish to try their special delicacies. Sana they open a branch in MM also.
Another locally made products. Proudly Philippine made...Congrats for the opening and more business ventures to come.
I like the concept and tagline from our farm to your table. It just shows how fresh and pure their food is here.
