CHINESE AND WESTERN PAINTINGS BY CHAN LIM FAMILY OF ARTISTS AND STUDENTS

That was an exciting afternoon when I was invited to the press conference and opening ceremonies of the Chan Lim Exhibit of Chinese and western Paintings at SM City Bacolod.

The Press Conference  was attended by Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students together with the Bacolod media and Bloggers and SM City executives.

The exciting part of the press conference was the demo of  the Chinese paintings  by one of the masters of Chan Lim Family, Mr. Alex Chan Lim using watercolor.

I was fairly excited to examine the painting during the workshop because while I am painting already, I have never tried watercolor in front. Another exciting component of a Chinese painting is its unique features as compared to other types of painting. The workshop did not really last long as the opening of the painting exhibit is already in the cue.

But the media and bloggers were not the only one who tried the workshop, 400 hundred others were also given a free workshop by Alex Lim Chan with the help of the family members and his students.

The Chan Lim Family’s  Painting Exhibit at the SM City Bacolod main Atrium will run from September 5-20, 2015.  The exhibit includes a  total of 217 artworks done by 34 artists  which includes paintings on Scrolls, paintings on lanterns and other oil and watercolor paintings.
