MUST TRY BACOLOD RESTAURANT | BONES AND BELLY

Have you tried the Bones and Belly Family Style Restaurant?

If you haven’t heard yet of this place, it is because they just recently opened at the Pearl Manor Hotel, Bacolod City.

Bones and Belly is quite simple with no frills, they have an al fresco dining area which I guess perfect during night time. During daytime, you can eat inside the restaurant which is adjacent to the lobby of Pearl Manor Hotel.

They used recycled Palochina Wood from used crates for their tables and enamel wares for their plates.

The place is just telling any diners to focus on what they serve, which is exactly the reason why you should visit -Bones and Belly.

I was not surprised why they served great dishes at Bones and Belly. Their Chef, Augie who is also an Industrial Partner of the business is really a good cook. I have tried most of his dishes previously and even blogged about it.

Aren’t you curious about what I tried from this restaurant?

Here’s a short list of my recommended dishes.

Top: Sizzling Cansi; Bottom: Bulalo

BULALO

Served in a mid-size cauldron, their Bulalo is must try. This soup dish is made by slowly cooking the beef shanks and bones loaded with marrow for long hours until the collagen and fat have melted into the clear broth.

To make this dish even more delightful, try to scoop out the marrows from the bone to fully mixed into the soup. But you can skip this part if your cholesterol level is high.

This dish can serve from 3 to four persons.

SIZZLING CANSI

Another to die for dish at Bones and belly is their Sizzling Cansi. Just imagine eating your favorite Cansi on a sizzling plate loaded with their rich yummy sauce. I should say this is my personal favorite.

Top: Grilled Tuna; Bottom: Lechon Kawali

GRILLED TUNA

For those who wanted a healthier dish, you can try their grilled Tuna.

LECHON KAWALI

Crispy skin, beautifully cut and presented on a wooden chopping board, their Lechon kawali is simply a winner.

Chef Augie simply knows the technique to make the pork belly flavorful and crispy by deep-frying the meat in a wok (kawali).

AMERICAN RIBS WITH CHOCOLATE SAUCE

Bones and belly’s American Ribs are so tender and the meat falls right off the bone. The twist for this dish is the added chocolate on its sauce.

Now, if your friend or loved one has a bone to pick with you, bring him/her to Bones and Belly, you will all forget all your disagreement after your meal.
