ZIP CITY IN DAVAO: CONQUERING MY FEAR OF HEIGHTS

It was again a day of adventure for the happy trippers in Davao. We woke up around 8am and took our breakfast. This time, we tried zip lining at the Zip City located at the Hilltop in Brgy. Langub, Davao City. From Tower Inn, we took a cab going to Hilltop. Travel time is approximately 20 minutes and we paid the sum of 150 pesos. At Hilltop, you will see the scenic and majestic view of Davao Gulf and Mt. Apo with Davao’s growing skyline.

We showed our tickets at the entrance and we were directed inside the facility. I told myself, “This is going to be a tough one since it is my first time to experience zipline” while Jojo already experienced a much longer zip line in Dahilayan Zip Line which boasts an 840 meters dual zip line, the longest dual zipline in Asia. After donning the safety harness, Jojo and I climbed the metal staircase to reach the jump off point where we will wait for our turn to glide, it’s going to be 320 meters glide from the top. Jojo went first so he can wait for me down the finish ramp and take my photo as a documentation of my first zip line experience (photographer at hilltop is not around).

I was a bit scared at first and I can’t set my feet at the edge of the platform for my release. I was sweating and almost backed out, but I told myself to set free and enjoy the ride. It was indeed a perfect experience and seeing the lushness of Davao mountains and the Beauty of Davao City from afar relieved my anxiety.

I’m near the finish point and I saw Jojo waiting for me to do my final pose for the picture and he captured it perfectly!!! next will be tougher, we will try the Xcelerator, a 1-kilometer zip line with 100kmph speed. I Conquered my fear not just ones, but twice. Thank you Lord, for making this trip a safe and HAPPY TRIP.
