HONGKONG ATTRACTIONS | HONGKONG MUSEUM OF ART, THE AVENUE OF STARS

Tsim Sha Tsui has many features/attractions which many tourists visit. Three attractions that are geographically adjacent are the Space Museum, Hongkong Museum of Art and the Avenue of Stars.

Right next to the Space Museum is the Art Museum. The main Museum requires an entrance fee so we didn’t come in anymore. We just check their souvenir shops and had a photo op.

VICTORIA HARBOUR & THE AVENUE OF STARS

At the back of the Museum is the Victoria Harbour. The Victoria Harbour, which might be one of the world’s finest harbor is the one which separates Hong Kong Island from the Kowloon Peninsula.  Its deep waters were instrumental in the establishment of a British colony in the early 19th century here and its presence has served to greatly shape the evolution of modern-day Hong Kong. The Victoria Harbour is a famous for its amazing panoramic night view and skyline, particularly in the direction towards Hong Kong Island where the skyline of skyscrapers is superimposed over the ridges behind. Among the best places to view the Harbour is at the Peak Tower on the Victoria Peak, or from the piazza at the Culture Centre or the promenade of Tsim Sha Tsui on the Kowloon side. Rides on the Star Ferry to view the harbor are also widely popular.

My Siblings at the Avenue of the Stars. Victoria Harbour also hosts world-class fireworks displays, the most famous being the annual 23-minute display held during Chinese New Year.  It illuminates the skyline at night, allowing lasting memories and excellent photos to be made of one of the world’s finest harbors.

On the same area is the Avenue of Stars, built along the promenade outside the New World Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui. Modeled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it honors the famous personalities of  Hong Kong film industry has produced over the past decades.

I am a big fan of Jacky Chan and Jet Li so I had myself photograph in their handprints at the avenue.

It was getting dark already and the temperature gets colder usually at night. Please take note that when you travel to Hongkong from December to February you must bring a good jacket with you. usually, December and January are the coldest. Most people in Hongkong wears layered clothing and others are even in their winter clothes. we didn’t bring winter jackets because we travel light, but we brought along with us knitted long sleeves and scarves. If you don’t want to bring bulky luggage, yet you don’t want to lose your fashion sense just bring basic color jacket like black and accessorize yourself with different scarves.

THE SYMPHONY OF LIGHTS

To add to the popularity of the harbor as a sightseeing location, the government introduced a show dubbed as A Symphony of Lights. We didn’t wait for the symphony of lights which took place every 8 pm, rather we decided to explore stores along Nathan Road but we promise to be back the following day, besides, it is just a walking distance from our hotel.
