Kara: A Mask Exhibit by Jojo Vito

“Celebrating the good Life in Bacolod”, theme of 2012 Masskara festival is the inspiration of Mr. Jojo Vito, a renowned mask maker and entrepreneur of Bacolod City. The exhibit is entitled “Kara” which was conceptualized by Jojo Vito and Anton Manso, Marketing Consultant of Jojo Vito Designs Gallery depicts the many faces of the good life in Bacolod City.

For KARA collection, Jojo Vito used materials such as fiber glass, beads, fashion accessories and other indigenous materials such as feathers, twigs, shells and stones.

Each mask is a representation of gaiety, glamour and the love for life of every Bacolodnon. Masks displayed is an evolution of designs away from the usual designs made by Vito Mask. With two months of preparation, Jojo Vito was able to create designs that are suited not only meant to be kept but for display. These Masks come in different forms and purpose such as wall lamps, wall decors, wall clocks, table tops and wearable masks which are perfect as giveaways for friends visiting the City of Smiles. For KARA collection, Jojo Vito used materials such as fiber glass, beads, fashion accessories and other indigenous materials such as feathers, twigs, shells and stones. Vito takes pride in the intricacy of his designs, the details and the hand paints of his products. It boasts a true Negrense Artistry that can compete in the global market.

The exhibit recently opened at SM City Bacolod, Northwing main entrance and was attended by Mayor Bing Leonardia, Vice Mayor Thaddy Sayson, Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, Masskara Chairman Mr. Eli Tajanlangit, Association of Negros Producers President Ms. Jojie Locsin , SM Marketing Manager Mr. Nep Grandea, SM PR Manager Ms. May Castro, friends from the Media, bloggers and some close friends. The exhibit is sponsored by SM City Bacolod and will run until October 22, 2012.
