I am a certified foodie, I gloriously love food. And because of that, I don’t stop discovering and searching for new places to eat, spots that are not only convenient and customer-friendly but reasonably-priced as well.  Nowadays in Bacolod, a lot of new restaurants have been sprouting like mushrooms in the Metro catering to different markets, from students to yuppies. Bypass Bistro is one of the newly opened restos in the city that offers delicious, quality food with good service to boot.

According to JM Javelosa (who co-owns the place along with his four partners) “We met and discussed the concept of the restaurant and how it’s going to be. Actually, I got the Idea from a restaurant when I went to the US for a vacation, there was this diner that serves buffalo wings, chicken tenders, and steaks but the restaurant’s set up was like a hospital, their staff and waiters were dressed like nurses and hospital staff. So we thought why not have the same set up here at Bypass since our menu mostly are protein rich?  But eventually, we settled for the industrial type of set up.”

Chef John Choa is in charge of whipping up the delicious food Bypass has to offer. They prepared house specialties which I was excited to try. The Buffalo Wings with Garlic Sauce was so rich in flavor that I didn’t even have to dip it with the garlic sauce! It is served with Java rice and mixed veggies as side dish for only P132.  Surely, the beer’s best companion would be the Bypass Sisig Fries and the serving is generous enough for sharing at the price of P125.

Choco-Cream cheese ala Mode

And the heavenly Choco-Cream cheese ala Mode. I felt how the cookie and vanilla ice cream combined melted in my mouth. So delectable!

So, for those who want to unwind after a tough day, Bypass Bistro is located at B.S. Aquino Drive and is open Monday to Thursday 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.  On Fridays and Saturdays they are open until 2:00 am.
