Ms. World Philippines Provincial Search Set at SM City Bacolod

Cory Quirino, chairman and CEO of CQ Global Quest Inc. (CQGQ) and national director-licensee of Miss World Philippines (MWP) made an announcement  that one of the stops of provincial search for promising candidates for Miss World Philippines  is set  on July 10, 2011 at SM City Bacolod.

The search  generated  several young first-time applicants for the beauty pageant during its kicked off in Naga City in early May. Other searches were held in SM City Cebu where a mini beauty pageant attracted hundreds of mallgoers, SM Mall of Asia, SM City Pampanga in San Fernando City and SM City Davao. Miss World Philippines  is presented by CQGQ and SM Development Corp. together with Banco de Oro, Petron, Smart, Philippine Airlines, and The City of Puerto Princesa, with SM Supermalls as official search partner. Prospective candidates should contact the MWP office at 780-4789, local 7171, or 0910-2382461, or visit www.missworldphilippines.com. In a press conference last January, Julia Morley, president and CEO of the Miss World Organization, made a concluding presentation of the Miss World license to Cory Quirino in the presence of Miss World 2010 Alexandria Mills and 2nd Princess Emma Wareus.areus. Upon receiving the license, Cory Quirino made her first official dramatic move by offering the biggest prize money in the history of the Philippine pageant industry by having a grand prize of P1 million, plus an SMDC Condo unit.

The Miss World Philippines Slogan is “Beauty in Giving” inspired by the famous Miss World Slogan “Beauty with a Purpose”. Using up this corporate social responsibility to heart, the Philippine pageant has adopted the Tuloy Street Children Foundation, led by Fr. Rock Evangelista; and Philippine General Medical Foundation, led by Dr. Greg Alvior, as beneficiaries.

The deadline for submission of application form is on July 31. The coronation and pageant night is set for September 18, 2011 at the Philippine International Convention Center.~
