MASSKARA QUEEN 2012

On October 18, 2012, the 32nd edition of the Miss MassKara Coronation Night was held at the University of St. La Salle Gymnasium in Bacolod City, Philippines. Ena Louis Velasco, a fourth-year BS Biology student at the University of St. La Salle, was crowned the new MassKara Queen of Bacolod City. Her runners-up were Samyah Al-Dossary, First Runner-Up, and Tanya Molenaar, Second Runner-Up.

Ena Velasco also won Best in Evening Gown, Best Festival Costume, Ms. 2GO Princess, and Miss Boracay Newcoast. Tanya Molenaar, the Second Runner-Up, also received the Best in Swimsuit, Best in Ramp, Miss Jor Travel and Tours, and Ms. SM awards.

The Best in Talent award went to Dominique Abayon, while Kris Ann Marie Dumancas won the Miss Congeniality and Best in Make-up awards.

The Miss Photogenic and Ms. Sta. Barbara Heights awards went to Kris Piamor Gicaro, while the Ms. Slenda award was given to Mara Delaminez. The Lifestyles Bacolod Readers’ Choice and Ms. Merzci awards were presented to Danielle Villaflor.

The 2012 MassKara Queen pageant was a production of ABS-CBN Bacolod, with Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa as executive producer. Gamboa was a former MassKara Queen and the first-ever Miss Philippines Centennial.

2016 Updates:

The 2016 MassKara Queen pageant was handled for the first time by the Association of Colleges and Universities of Negros Occidental (ACUNO), headed by its president, Dr. Ma. Mercedez Joson. The theme for that year’s pageant was “By the Students, for the Students: Kara Estudyante.”

The coronation night was scheduled to be held at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City on October 15, 2016, marking the second time the MassKara Queen coronation night would be staged at the venue.

The event was expected to draw a large number of students who would come to support their respective candidates. For 2016, 10 candidates from various schools in Bacolod City were set to vie for the coveted MassKara Queen crown.

At the time of writing, voting for the 2016 MassKara Queen Social Media Princess was still ongoing at Top on My List, where supporters could vote for their favourite candidates.
