WATER ADVENTURE | MAXIMA AQUA FUN RESORT | SAMAL ISLAND ATTRACTION

I got bored of a regular type of beach.  I wanted something that offers adventure and fun …

That was All Souls day and we were in Davao for a series of training engagements. Of course,  nobody would like to attend a seminar during the 1st and 2nd of November. So we’re free,  but instead of getting bored in the hotel we thought of trying a place we haven’t visited before. We thought of Samal Island. And when we asked the Front Office Staff of the hotel about Samal Island they immediately mentioned, Maxima!

MAXIMA AQUA FUN FACILITIES

Maxima Aqua Fun has several facilities which any visitor can enjoy.

Two Giant Tarpaulin Water Slide

You can shout your lungs out while sliding to any of their giant tarpaulin water slides.

We’ve tried their 4o meters giant slide. A “scream all you can” treat for the adventurous buddies.  Don’t worry, they have lifeguards waiting for you in the water at the end of the slide. The moment I got into the water which is said to be at least 100 meters deep in a super flash of 6 seconds I was reminded of the feeling when we almost got drowned from our last year’s white water rafting adventure (also in Davao).  But the experience was amazing.

Water Blob

The water blob looked like a giant balloon. At Maxima I enjoyed seeing one person lying on end and another jumps on the opposite side. The person lying would then be pushed up in the air and into the water.

Diving Board, Snorkeling

Maxima also offers underwater dive experience both for beginners and professionals. Samal Island is a coral garden that’s why it is perfect for diving and snorkeling.

Eagle View Canopy Walk

We were not able to experience their Eagle View Canopy walk as it was closed during our visit.

There were no shops nearby, so bring all the stuff you need as you would go to a picnic – food, utensils, plates, drinks, water, cups, etc.  They have a small canteen offering food and drinks. It’s just  sad to note however that the staff they have in their canteen needs so much training on customer service …. (I am sorry Maxima..) But the guard whom we left our personal belongings was super nice.

    • During my visit the road was passable though we use the habal-habal. I guess, they are maintaining the roads as well. I am not just sure during rainy days.

        • When I was there I didn't see facilities for diving and even in their site, they don't have a price for that. But I guess you can bring your own stuff if you wish. yes, the prices written here are still the same with what they offer. For more, you can contact the contact number written above. Thank you

  • How much is the room reservations? Or are there tents available in the resort?

  • magkano entrance per head? at magkano sa bata? ang cattage at pool magkano? dyan ko sana e cecelebrate ang birthday nang anak ko

  • Stop these bull.... promotionals. The place stinks, all amenities are nowhere near anything you know in Pansol hot springs resort or any of your fav resorts. You will curse those who made compliments about things that do not give you any fun at all. Trampoline was mowhere, canopy walk is probitive for safety reasons, slides are crowded, no fun no fun.

  • Hi, we're thinking of going there this weekend (June1st) Do we still need a reservation for the shuttle service and accomodation?

    • Hi Kris,
No need for reservation, there are plenty of vehicles in the place :) Have a happy Trip!
