ILAYA HIGHLAND RESORT | PATAG, SILAY CITY ATTRACTION

Breathe and Experience the Beauty of Ilaya Highland Resort

A resort that gives you a great view of their Balinese-inspired architecture. An Infinity pool where you can have an enjoyable experience and awesome scenery that the environment provides while taking a dip in the water. And different picturesque sites where you can take pictures with your family and friends. All of these can be experienced in Ilaya Highland Resort located in Patag, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

How to Get to Ilaya Highland Resort

  • From New Bacolod-Silay International Airport

It is a forty to forty-five minutes’ drive coming from the airport going to the resort.

  • From Bacolod City

Go to New Ceres North Terminal and ride the bus going to Silay City. Tell the conductor that you would get off at Patag or at Capitan Ramon Terminal that is near the Prince Hypermarket. Once you get there, you can get a ride going to Ilaya Highland Resort. The fare will roughly cost less than a hundred pesos and the trip will take two hours or less depending on the local traffic.

Food

The resort has a restaurant where you can eat. Take note that bringing of food from outside is not allowed in the resort.

Swimming Pool of Ilaya Highland Resort

Visitors who want to take a swim in their infinity pool must abide by the resort’s house rules.

  • There is a 150 pesos charge per head for the use of the pool.
  • A lifeguard is stationed in the swimming pool, make sure that you show him your ticket for swimming pool usage.
  • Be reminded of the basic swimming precautions:
    • Shower before swimming
    • Your footwear should be left outside the pool area
    • No standing on the edge of the pool to avoid accidents
    • Jumping or diving is not allowed

Service

There were a lot of different views from clients who visited the resort since their soft opening. Honestly, I also experienced a not so nice experience during our last visit. However, in light with some of the negative feedback, there are also signs that they are working hard to raise the level of their services. The staff are mainly locals of the city and are doing their best to be professional and helpful to the resort’s visitors, though apparently, they needed more training. Aside from this, the elderly can enjoy the place with the help of golf carts that the resort provides.

Development

The resort aims to give its visitors’ great experience of the local scenery. To accomplish this, a lot of developments are still undergoing in the resort to better serve their clients. These includes:

  • Glamping site

The glamping site of Ilaya Highland Resort can be an enjoyable experience for the kids. The site will be located behind the restaurant.

  • Balinese-themed villas

This will be a big development for the resort since it will help them accommodate clients who want to stay overnight.

The entrance fee only costs 200 pesos per head and you can rent the resort’s canopy tent for 500 pesos. If you have kids with you who are three feet below in height, their entrance fee is waived.

Be reminded of the saying “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”. The resort can be strict when it comes to their customs so make sure you are well informed of these and it would be best if you coordinate things appropriately with them to have an enjoyable day at Ilaya.
