Pintaflores Festival
Pintaflores is, in my own humble opinion, one of the most beautiful festivals in the province of Negros Occidental. It’s a celebration that holds a special place in my heart, and I want to take you on a personal journey through this incredible event. As a blogger and a festival enthusiast, my perspective on Pintaflores is a testament to the vibrant culture and rich heritage of our province.
The Missed Opportunities
Despite the festival being right in our own province, I never had the chance to witness the festival in the past. The reason? Well, it’s almost like a comedy of coincidences. You see, this festival often coincided with other remarkable festivals in the province, like those in Bago and Talisay City, not to mention the grand Al Cinco de Noviembre celebrations. So, every year, I found myself torn between these equally enchanting festivities, making it impossible for me to experience Pintaflores firsthand.
But fate had other plans for me. I had the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Pintaflores’ during the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo, a showcase of various festivals from different local government units. The moment I saw their captivating performance, I knew I was witnessing something extraordinary. The vibrant colors, the graceful dance moves, and the sheer joy radiating from the participants left me utterly captivated.
And then, quite unexpectedly, a friend who’s a photographer extended an invitation that would change my perspective on Pintaflores forever. He had heard about the festival and was excited to capture its essence through his camera lens. He had a vision for an upcoming gallery, and Pintaflores was to be its centerpiece. Given my trust in his instincts when it comes to uncovering hidden gems, I readily agreed to accompany him on this adventure.
Pintaflores isn’t just a festival; it’s a fusion of two unique celebrations, the Nabingkalan Tattoo Festival and the Dance of Flowers. This amalgamation has created a breathtaking spectacle that peaks every November 3 to 6. The highlight of the festival is the awe-inspiring street dance, where participants are adorned with creative tattoos and adorned in elaborate floral costumes. The combination of intricate body art and stunning flower-themed attire creates a mesmerizing burst of color.
What’s even more incredible is the way the performances are themed around the eternal struggle between light and darkness, good and evil. The storytelling combined with the stunning visuals never fails to leave spectators spellbound.
Pintaflores Festival Schedule of Activities
Pintaflores is not just a festival; it’s a symbol of community pride and identity. It celebrates the beauty of San Carlos City and showcases the vibrant culture of Negros Occidental. As a blogger and festival enthusiast, Pintaflores has left an indelible mark on me. It’s a celebration of life, culture, and the enduring spirit of our province.
So, if given the chance, I’d gladly attend another Pintaflores Festival. It’s a journey filled with joy, pride, and the rich tapestry of our culture. I hope you get to experience it for yourself one day, creating your own unforgettable memories in this floral wonderland.

Pintaflores Festival
Creating an identity is a trend. That is not only true to people but also places. Imagine a place without a significant spot, a notable icon, or anything that the site could be proud of? Yes, that may be too vague or boring to some extent. This is the reason why as much as possible, one from another tries their best to come up with something to make their lives as a part of a community a happy and proud one.
The place of San Carlos City located at Negros Occidental is no different in this case. They wanted to make something unique in their place, something that could make everyone happy. This attempt leads to the conceptualization and implementation of the Pintaflores Festival. And with that, the glorious celebration began to flourish as the years go by. This is a combination of their two festivities, the Nabingkalan Tattoo Festival and the Dance of Flowers. No wonder that they gave their best shot in celebrating such festivities combined into one. Pintaflores Festival peaks every November 3 up to 6.
The highlight of the Pintaflores Festival is the street dance of people decorated with creative tattoos/paints and wearing a grand floral costume. The busting color of the parade as manifested with the paint and the flowers are indeed a sight to behold. Though the theme of the presentation is also a mixture of dark and light, or good or evil, the overall performance is beautiful and is worth the time to watch.
The reason why I got to witness the Pintaflores Festival was because of an invitation from a photographer friend of mine. He said that he heard about this festivity and he was excited to take photos of the parade since he plans to use it in his upcoming gallery. I trust his instinct and sources when it comes to places, and that is why I agreed to come with him. Low and behold, his goal of being in the place exceeded both of our expectations. It was a festival of celebration and merry-making! The smiles of the people, along with the great performances can undoubtedly lighten up someone’s’ gloomy mood.
Aside from the presentations of the Pintaflores Festival, other things you may do here is strolling around the famous landmarks or having a food trip somewhere. As for the places, they have the famous ancestral houses, Alinsyawan Falls, Choco Hills, Lapus Cave, Sipaway Island, La Fortuna Nature, and Wildlife Lagoon. As for the food, you may also try the seafood which they offer. A lot of affordable going high-end restaurants or food hubs are available near the city center. And with that, I am sure that your taste buds will be satisfied with the natural taste of the food that they offer.
If given a chance one more, I would like to attend another Pintaflores festival. The fusion of the festivities that they were able to come up with is indeed a unique one and something that can make everyone proud.
