Going to an isle hopping is one of the activities that I am looking for whenever I get to visit a new place. Well, the idea of visiting isle with equally unique beauty and features fascinates me a lot. It is as if, I can visit different realms of the world with just one activity. One of the activities that I was able to try out is the Hundred Islands National Park.
At first, I initially thought that it is indeed a total of 100! Only to be informed later on that there are a total of 123 isles during high tide and 124 during low tide season. Yes! I found it as an opportunity to satisfy my boating/sightseeing fascination. The Hundred Islands National Park is located in the City of Alaminos, Pangasinan. The travel here coming from Manila will only take about 4 to 5 hours. After that, you are bound to a fantastic isle-hopping adventure of a lifetime. In fact, because of the natural beauty of the place, it was hailed as one of the National Geological Monuments of the Philippines, or the entire archipelago. With the belief that the age of the park is about 2 million years old, it is no wonder that it had begun to attract the attention of a lot of tourists way before it was fully developed.

The destination of the isle hopping activity may vary depending on the whims of the tourists riding the boat. But, of all the spots, there are three top developed areas for tourism purposes.
Quezon Island
First of these three is the Quezon Island. It has a total of 2 dining pavilions, restrooms, grilling site, nipa huts, and a scenic white sandbar. Also, it holds a large clam garden which deeply fascinates the tourists. The isle was named after the former president Manuel Quezon. All in all, this spot is a complete package is I may say.

Governor’s Island
The second developed spot in the Hundred Islands National Park, Pangasinan is the Governor’s Island. It has a stretch of white sand beach, a cave that has different bats and swiftlets, and a fantastic view deck which allows the tourists to have a glimpse of all the other areas as the background. The trek heading to the view deck may not be an easy one, but I can assure you that the view at the top will be very worth the sweat. The overnight accommodation in the Big Brother House (used as a location for shooting a Philippine reality show) is also available for an overnight stay.

Children’s Island
The third developed spot is the children’s island which is known for being suited for families. The water is shallow, making it perfect for children to swim without worrying too much about their safety. Staying here will be possible by renting a tent for a camp-like stay.
Other Islands
Other tourist spots in Hundred Islands National Park, Pangasinan includes the Century (haven of the locals during the World War 2 era), Marcos, New Scout, Lopez, Clave, Old Scout, Martha and Ramos, Cuenco, Romulo, Devi, Cathedral, Guiya, Bangar, Turtle, Braganza, Hernandez, Abad Santos, Sulpot, Cariaz, Moneky, Sison, Shell, and Camantiles Islands. These places are also open for exploration as apart of your boat hopping activity. If I may suggest, I urge you to choose about 10 to 13 areas to visit if you plan to spend an entire day of hopping. Aside from this, snorkeling, diving, and all other fun water sports and activities are possible. So, you have to choose which one you are best comfortable to do, and the park has it for you.
All in all, the Hundred Islands National Park is suited for those who would like to experience a beach life without too much noise and party. Your stay here might be a quiet one, but the tranquility and serenity it brings are beyond one can explain. Plan your trip heading to this park, and I know that you’ll get your ultimate summer beaching goals. Good luck!
