NATURE’S EYE RESORT: A RUSTIC HAVEN BY THE SEA

When you have already seen what the best of urban living has to offer apart from the usual dose of toxicity that is the hustle and bustle of living in the city, sometimes the only cure for this kind of problem is to escape from it all, commonly disguised as a “vacation.”

while waiting for the Island hopping… at Nature’s Eye Resort

Whether you are running away from the life in the densely populated metropolitan or just seeking new places to learn and experience, no other place gives the benefit of both healing and wonder than being at a place closest to Mother Nature itself.

Our room during our visit at Nature’s Eye Resort

While you can choose to go the trodden path and be part of a larger crowd still, only different setting, there is no comparison in being at a place all to yourself as if though you have come across a frontier where no one had set foot in but actually had—Like being at the Nature’s Eye Resort in Nueva Valencia at the island-province of Guimaras.

Nature’s Eye Resort also has a modern building but its color and fixtures are made of natural materials just like what you can see in most of their cottages (Ocean View Cottage)

Despite its marvelous existence, there is simply not many people who know about the place, especially among tourists and non-locals, which explains the rather desolate—in terms of people visiting the place—nature of this resort.

But for a place mostly devoid of the crowd there is a gem to be found in this speck of an area on the island especially if you are the type to prefer the company of yourself,  with a special someone, or with very few people you actually trust and want to spend some quality time with.

Chief of this is having the privacy and the freedom to be at a place which you can call as your temporary abode. Not many places give as much liberation than leaving an islet Cove at your leisure when you have nobody else’s to share it with.

simply covered with shell curtain…the comfort room in one of the cottages at Nature’s Eye Resort

In fact, looking at the cottages overall design, the idea that not many frequent the place is very telling. Ever seen a comfort room that is partially covered and mostly open to the vistas of the open sea?

Although admittedly discomforting for most people who had grown in the idea of doing their private business in a closed-setting, there is a liberating feeling of being partially exposed, partially covered and knowing that there is nobody out there to peek.

For those who have grown accustomed to the conveniences and comforts of city life may find the rustic feel of the resort some getting used to.

The rustic Sunset Cottage, Nature’s Eye Resort

There are not much amenities to be found in any of the open cottages that are for rent in this place, the comfort you would need would come from nature itself. Being by the sea, heat would be the least of your concerns here, especially at night time.

The Sunset Cottage, isn’t this room perfect to be shared with someone special?, Nature’s Eye Resort

As far as entertainment goes, the very landscape of the place itself for you to discover is more than sufficient to occupy a part of your meaningful stay in the place.

However, if you are adventurous enough, there is more than just the resort to see if you would just dare ask about it.

HOW TO GET AT NATURE’S EYE RESORT

From Iloilo Parola Wharf, take the Pumpboat going to Jordan Guimaras. The fare is PHP 14/way and travel time is approximately 15 minutes.

There are several ways to get to Nature’s Eye Resort from Jordan Wharf:

If you are traveling alone or with a friend, you can take a Habal-habal (Single Motorcycle ) to bring you to crossing Tando. From that place, you can ask around for the directions in going to the resort. Fare – Php 50 per pax

Another option and a little more comfortable than a Habla-habal is the Tricycle Rental. From Jordan Wharf you need to pay for the Tricycle for PHP 500. A tricycle can accommodate 4 persons but if you are of a small built, the tricycle can take up to 5 persons.

During our visit we hired Kim, he is a very reliable driver and can be a tour guide also should you decide to do an Island Tour. You can reach him at his FB Page @Guimaras Adventure or you may call him at 09329664470.

If you are traveling as a group the most convenient and comfortable is to rent a boat to bring you straight to Nature’s Eye Resort. Boat rental is Php 4,000 and can take up to 10 persons. Just ask at Jordan Wharf for these boats.
