Hi, Happy Trippers; this time, we will bring you to Bugana Beach and Dive Resort Sipalay, nestled in the enchanting Barangay Maricalum in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental. As fellow adventurers, my friends CG Hisona, Engiemar, and I recently embarked on a delightful journey to this exquisite resort. Our initial plan was to revisit this beloved destination, savoring a cup of coffee while relishing the serenity it offers. Little did we know that our visit would extend to a captivating lunch experience as we succumbed to the irresistible charm of the place.

Strike a pose! While flaunting our fabulous beachfront photoshoot, a hilarious discussion ensued about the true state of our waistlines. Engiemar Tupas, CG Hisona, and I couldn’t help but wonder: Whose tummy was in dire need of extra support? Was it Engiemar, whose appetite knows no bounds and could stretch any waistband to its limits? Or perhaps CG Hisona, whose love for food is matched only by the expansion of their waistline? And then there’s me, the self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things delicious, with a waistline that has seen its fair share of culinary adventures. Now, it’s your turn to be the judge! The Presidential Villa can accommodate a maximum of 14 guests, making it ideal for large groups. The rate for this exclusive villa is ₱ 23,000.00.
2. The Villas: For those looking to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy a luxurious stay, the Villas offer the perfect setting. These villas come with private dipping pools and decks, allowing guests to relax and unwind in privacy. The Villas of Bugana Beach and Dive Resort are designed to accommodate a maximum of 4 guests and are priced at ₱ 5,950.00.
3. The Suite: The Suite is a unique accommodation option with a separate bedroom and a private living area. This spacious suite can also be used as a family room, with a sofa bed available for additional guests. The Suite can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests and is priced at ₱ 4,850.00.
4. The Beachfront: Ideal for those seeking direct beach access, the Beachfront suite offers a separate bedroom and a private living area. It is also suitable for guests with special needs (PWD). The Beachfront suite can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests and is priced at ₱ 4,350.00.
5. The Superior: The Superior rooms at Bugana Resort are spacious corner rooms that provide guests with great beach views. These rooms offer a comfortable and relaxing stay and accommodate a maximum of 4 guests. The rate for the Superior room is ₱ 3,400.00.

Food Review of Bugana Beach and Dive Resort Sipalay

We browsed their menu and engaged in friendly conversation with their staff. The staff members were pleasant and accommodating, which created a welcoming atmosphere. We perused the menu and noticed that most dishes were priced at around 400.00+. After inquiring about the portion sizes, we were informed that they could serve 3-4 people. With this information in mind, we ordered two dishes: the chicken tinola and another beef dish.

However, our dining experience at the Restaurant left us slightly disappointed this time. Despite our previous enjoyable experiences, we found that the portion sizes did not adequately satisfy three individuals, as suggested by the staff. The servings seemed more suitable for two people, assuming they were not particularly large eaters. Although we appreciated the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant, the underwhelming portion sizes were a letdown.

To make matters worse, the dishes we ordered arrived overly strong and salty. This further diminished our satisfaction with the dining experience. In light of our disappointment, we took the initiative to inform the staff about the quality of the food, expressing our hope that they would take appropriate action to address the issue. Unfortunately, I failed to take pictures of the food.

From Manila:

1. By Air:
   • Fly from Manila to Bacolod-Silay International Airport.
   • From Bacolod, take a ceres Bus to Sipalay
   • Then take a tricycle going to the resort
2. By Land and Sea:
   • Take a domestic RORO Vessel from Manila to Bacolod
   • Take a taxi or a Grab ride from the airport to Bacolod North Terminal.
   • Board a Ceres Liner bus bound for Sipalay City. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours—  Schedule of Buses for Sipalay.
   • Once in Sipalay City, you can hire a tricycle or private vehicle to reach Bugana Beach and Dive Resort in Barangay Maricalum.

From Cebu:

1. By Land and Sea:
   • Take a ferry or a fast craft from Cebu to Dumaguete City.
   • From Dumaguete City, take a Ceres Liner bus bound for Sipalay City. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours.
   • Upon arrival in Sipalay City, hire a tricycle or a private vehicle to reach Bugana Beach and Dive Resort in Barangay Maricalum.

From Dumaguete:

1. By Land and Sea:
   • From Dumaguete City, take a Ceres Liner bus bound for Sipalay City. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours.
   • Once in Sipalay City, hire a tricycle or a private vehicle to reach Bugana Beach and Dive Resort in Barangay Maricalum.

From Iloilo:

1. By Land and Sea:
   • Take a taxi or a Grab ride to Iloilo Port.
   • Board a ferry or a fast craft from Iloilo to Bacolod.
   • From Bacolod, follow the land and sea directions mentioned in the Manila section to reach Sipalay City, Bugana Beach, and Dive Resort.
