There are places where you arrive and say, “Nice.”
Then there are places where you arrive and immediately think, “Okay, somebody really spent for this!”
That was my first reaction when I visited Anyag Leisure Farm & Resort in Granada, Bacolod City.
I was with my friends Doc CG Hisona, Doc Lei Lani, and Mark, and our mission was quite simple: have lunch, explore the property, and of course, check out what this countryside resort is all about.
We were not exactly on a serious inspection mission.
Well… maybe I was.
The others were probably more interested in lunch.
But as soon as we entered Anyag, I knew this wasn’t going to be just another lunch trip.
The place is lovely.
It breathes luxury.
And you can immediately tell that the owner didn’t just casually throw a few buildings onto a five-hectare property and say, “Okay, resort na!”
There was clearly a vision—and money—behind this place.
And you can see it.
Anyag is located at HDA Sto. Domingo in Granada, Bacolod City.
From Granada proper, you still have to travel quite a distance to get there.
If you’re new to the place, there may be a moment when you start wondering:
“Are we still going to Anyag?”
And then:
“Are we still in Bacolod?”
And eventually:
“Did we accidentally buy a farm?”
Hahaha.
But seriously, don’t worry.
The roads are good, so the drive isn’t a problem.
My only concern is what happens when you decide to stay until late afternoon and then suddenly realize that you’re heading back in the dark.
Some portions of the road don’t have much lighting, so if you’re doing a day visit, I would suggest leaving before it gets too late.
Unless…
you decide to stay overnight.
And after seeing the property, that suddenly sounds like a very good idea.
Once you enter the property, you need to stop at the first building to register.
Of course, you need to park your car first.
Unless you want to register while still inside the vehicle.
Hahaha.
From there, golf carts can take you around the property or bring you to the restaurant.
And that’s when you start appreciating how big the place actually is.
Anyag sits on about five hectares and combines accommodations, dining, leisure areas, event spaces, gardens, orchards, and agricultural surroundings.
It doesn’t feel like a resort pretending to be a farm.
The farm is actually part of the experience.
One side of the property opens toward an active and fertile rice field.
And I loved that.
There is something very refreshing about seeing an actual rice field while you’re staying at what is otherwise a beautifully designed leisure resort.
Then you start noticing the fruit trees.
Anyag feels like an orchard.
There were rambutan trees dotted around the property, and during our visit, they were showing off their bright red fruits.
They were so red and abundant that even if you weren’t hungry, you would probably start thinking about eating them.
Doc Lei Lani did.
She bought some.
Then there was the marang.
Ah, marang.
You don’t even need to see it.
The smell announces its arrival before you do.
Some of the fruits had fallen to the ground, and that familiar aroma immediately brought back memories for me.
I love fruits.
Unfortunately, I’ve recently changed my diet and am avoiding sugary food, so I had to practice restraint.
This was difficult.
Very difficult.
But I survived.
We considered opening a marang, but then we remembered that we were riding in Doc CG’s car.
And I don’t think CG wanted his vehicle to become a mobile marang storage facility.
So we exercised maturity.
We left the marang alone.
You’re welcome, CG.
What I really liked about Anyag was the simplicity of the design.
The structures have a modern barn-inspired character, but they don’t overpower the landscape.
The landscaping is beautifully done.
The trees, open spaces, pathways, gardens, and buildings seem to work together naturally.
And that’s not easy to achieve.
Sometimes, when resorts try too hard to look luxurious, they end up looking like a furniture showroom that got lost in the countryside.
Anyag doesn’t do that.
It lets the countryside breathe.
And somehow, that’s what makes the luxury work.
The resort has several accommodations, and one thing I noticed was how they are positioned away from some of the function areas.
That’s a good thing.
If you’re staying overnight, you don’t necessarily want to hear somebody celebrating a birthday at 10 p.m. while you’re trying to sleep.
Unless, of course, you’re the one celebrating.
Hahaha.
During our visit, there was a birthday celebration happening on the property.
They also have larger spaces for bigger events, including weddings.
The smaller function room we saw was air-conditioned.
I wasn’t able to check whether the larger hall was air-conditioned, so that’s something event organizers should confirm with the resort before booking.
But visually, the spaces are attractive and well integrated into the property.
Then we reached the chapel.
And this was when my imagination started working overtime.
The chapel is simple and intimate.
It doesn’t have a lot of religious images or elaborate decoration.
Instead, it sits beautifully within the greenery, with two rows of mango trees leading toward it.
I really liked it.
In fact, I started imagining myself getting married there.
But I don’t have someone to marry yet.
Hahaha!
But let’s not allow that small technical problem to stop the imagination.
The chapel is actually the size I would prefer for an intimate wedding.
I don’t need hundreds of people watching me walk down the aisle.
A small group of family and close friends would be enough.
And after the ceremony?
Well…
Lunch, swimming and maybe a nap.
That’s my kind of wedding program.
There’s a small pool beside the rice field, and I immediately thought:
This would be nice for an intimate afternoon.
Imagine spending the morning walking around the property, having lunch, then changing into swimwear and enjoying the pool around noon.
No crowds.
No rushing.
Just trees, rice fields, fresh air and water.
Of course, I still have to check the resort’s rules about pool use and whether certain arrangements are allowed.
But the idea is already there.
And honestly, I like the idea of spending an entire day here rather than just coming for lunch.
Now here’s another thing I would love to experience.
A bonfire.
If Anyag allows bonfires, I would definitely want to try that during an overnight stay.
Imagine it.
The sun has gone down.
The countryside is quiet.
You’re sitting with friends around a fire, talking about everything and nothing.
Somebody is laughing too loudly.
Somebody is telling a story that has already been told three times.
Somebody is probably checking Facebook.
And somebody—probably me—is saying:
“Guys, this is the life.”
Hahaha.
That would be a completely different Anyag experience.
The staff also deserve a mention.
From the front office to the golf-cart drivers and restaurant staff, everyone we encountered was pleasant and accommodating.
They were not just doing their jobs.
They were actually engaging with us.
The waiters were chatting with us, which made the experience more relaxed.
Our captain waiter even knew one of my graduate-school students.
He also gave us a tour of the property.
That kind of interaction makes a difference.
A beautiful resort gets you through the door.
Good people make you want to return.
Eventually, we made our way to the restaurant.
The restaurant was pleasant, well-lit and fresh, with the surrounding greenery adding to the experience.
And yes, they have Wi-Fi at the restaurant.
Very important information.
Because apparently, we can go to a beautiful countryside resort surrounded by trees and rice fields…
but we still need Wi-Fi.
Hahaha.
Maybe we haven’t completely escaped civilization after all.
For lunch, we ordered:
Buffalo Chicken Wings
Beef Tapa
Bistek Bangus Belly
Sisig
No, we weren’t angry.
We were hungry.
There were four of us.
And apparently, four people looking at a menu can quickly become a small food festival.
I actually waited a few days before writing this review.
I didn’t want to write immediately after the visit because I wanted to be objective.
A review that says everything is perfect isn’t necessarily a good review.
And I don’t believe in writing something just because I like the establishment.
If something is good, I’ll say it’s good.
If something needs improvement, I’ll say that too.
Fairly.
The beef tapa was probably my favorite.
I enjoyed it.
It was flavorful and satisfying, although it was a little too sweet for my personal preference.
But overall, I liked the tapa.
And considering I am currently trying to avoid sugary food, perhaps the tapa was also testing my character.
The bistek bangus belly was okay.
Nothing bad to report.
It was enjoyable, although it wasn’t the dish that stayed in my memory after the meal.
The buffalo chicken wings were where I felt there was room for improvement.
I expected the outer coating to have that nice crisp texture.
Instead, it came across as somewhat chewy.
The taste also gave me the impression that the wings may have been sitting for a while before reaching our table.
Again, that’s based on what we experienced that particular day.
Hopefully, they’ve already improved the preparation.
The sisig was probably the bigger disappointment.
It was served on a sizzling plate.
But…
It wasn’t really sizzling.
I actually touched the plate.
It was warm, but it wasn’t hot enough to give us that wonderful sizzling experience.
And for me, that’s part of what makes sisig exciting.
I want to hear:
Tssssssssss!
I want to see the fat still melting.
I want the plate to arrive at the table like it’s making an entrance.
Instead, our sisig arrived rather quietly.
The pork was generously coated with mayonnaise.
And personally, I have absolutely no problem with that.
I love mayonnaise.
But I missed the sizzling part.
Still, we ate everything.
Because we may be critics…
but we’re not wasteful critics.
Hahaha.
The other thing we noticed was the waiting time.
Our food took quite a while to arrive.
Since the staff were friendly, we simply called the waiter and asked him to check with the kitchen.
Interestingly, the guests at the table beside us also agreed that the waiting time was quite long.
So it wasn’t just our imagination.
Our food had apparently decided to enjoy the countryside before coming to our table.
Hahaha.
But seriously, this is an area I hope the resort continues to improve.
It wasn’t a disaster.
Nobody was fighting.
Nobody fainted from hunger.
We eventually got our food and ate everything.
But when you’re positioning a resort as a premium leisure destination, service consistency becomes important.
Hopefully, the kitchen has already addressed this.
Here’s the funny part.
After everything I just told you…
I still want to come back.
That says something.
The food had some misses during our visit, but the overall experience was enjoyable.
The property is beautiful.
The landscaping is lovely.
The staff are friendly.
The accommodations are nicely positioned.
The countryside setting is authentic.
And you can see the investment.
We even asked about bringing our own food next time.
We were told that corkage is around ₱500 per dish, while lechon corkage was around ₱1,500 to ₱2,000. I’m not completely sure about the exact lechon rate, so it’s best to confirm the current amount directly with the resort.
And honestly, I understand the corkage.
Someone invested significantly in this property.
The resort has to maintain the buildings, landscaping, accommodations, facilities and staff.
And the food-and-beverage operation is part of the business.
Pricing is also relative.
What I consider expensive may be perfectly reasonable for another guest.
Our visit was only a day trip.
And that means I still haven’t experienced the resort completely.
I want to stay overnight.
I want to see the property when the sun goes down.
I want to see the lights around the trees.
I want to know how quiet the place becomes at night.
I want to wake up surrounded by greenery.
I want to try breakfast.
I want to have that noon swim.
I want to sit around a bonfire—if they allow it, of course.
And I want to experience the restaurant again.
Because maybe by the time I return, the buffalo wings will be crispier, the sisig will be properly sizzling, and the kitchen will have improved the waiting time.
And if they have?
I’ll happily write about it.
Because a good review isn’t about finding fault.
It’s about giving credit where credit is due—and giving establishments a chance to improve where they can.
Anyag Leisure Farm & Resort is one of those places that reminds you that you don’t have to travel far to find a beautiful countryside escape.
Yes, it’s a little way from Granada proper.
Yes, if you’re doing a day visit, I would recommend heading home before it gets too dark.
But once you arrive, you understand why the journey is worth it.
The rice fields.
The fruit trees.
The marang.
The rambutan.
The mango-lined pathways.
The chapel.
The pool.
The accommodations.
The event spaces.
The restaurant.
The friendly staff.
And that unmistakable feeling that somebody really invested in making this place beautiful.
For me, Anyag is charming.
It has character.
It has luxury.
But it still feels connected to the countryside.
And most importantly, it made me want to come back.
Perhaps next time I’ll stay overnight.
Maybe I’ll swim at noon.
Maybe I’ll sit beside a bonfire.
Maybe I’ll eat breakfast under the trees.
Maybe I’ll smell the marang again.
And who knows?
Maybe I’ll stand in front of that chapel again and think about marriage.
But I don’t have someone to marry yet, so let’s deal with that problem later.
For now, I’ll settle for an overnight stay.

Once you enter the property, you need to stop at the first building to register.

From there, golf carts can take you around the property or bring you to the restaurant.
And that’s when you start appreciating how big the place actually is.
Anyag sits on about five hectares and combines accommodations, dining, leisure areas, event spaces, gardens, orchards, and agricultural surroundings.
It doesn’t feel like a resort pretending to be a farm.
The farm is actually part of the experience.
One side of the property opens toward an active and fertile rice field.
And I loved that.
There is something very refreshing about seeing an actual rice field while you’re staying at what is otherwise a beautifully designed leisure resort.
Then you start noticing the fruit trees.
Anyag feels like an orchard.
There were rambutan trees dotted around the property, and during our visit, they were showing off their bright red fruits.
They were so red and abundant that even if you weren’t hungry, you would probably start thinking about eating them.
Doc Lei Lani did.
She bought some.
Then there was the marang.
Ah, marang.
You don’t even need to see it.
The smell announces its arrival before you do.
Some of the fruits had fallen to the ground, and that familiar aroma immediately brought back memories for me.
I love fruits.
Unfortunately, I’ve recently changed my diet and am avoiding sugary food, so I had to practice restraint.
This was difficult.
Very difficult.
But I survived.
We considered opening a marang, but then we remembered that we were riding in Doc CG’s car.
And I don’t think CG wanted his vehicle to become a mobile marang storage facility.
So we exercised maturity.
We left the marang alone.
You’re welcome, CG.
What I really liked about Anyag was the simplicity of the design.
The structures have a modern barn-inspired character, but they don’t overpower the landscape.
The landscaping is beautifully done.
The trees, open spaces, pathways, gardens, and buildings seem to work together naturally.
And that’s not easy to achieve.
Sometimes, when resorts try too hard to look luxurious, they end up looking like a furniture showroom that got lost in the countryside.
Anyag doesn’t do that.
It lets the countryside breathe.
And somehow, that’s what makes the luxury work.
The resort has several accommodations, and one thing I noticed was how they are positioned away from some of the function areas.
That’s a good thing.
If you’re staying overnight, you don’t necessarily want to hear somebody celebrating a birthday at 10 p.m. while you’re trying to sleep.
Unless, of course, you’re the one celebrating.
Hahaha.
During our visit, there was a birthday celebration happening on the property.
They also have larger spaces for bigger events, including weddings.
The smaller function room we saw was air-conditioned.
I wasn’t able to check whether the larger hall was air-conditioned, so that’s something event organizers should confirm with the resort before booking.
But visually, the spaces are attractive and well integrated into the property.
Then we reached the chapel.
And this was when my imagination started working overtime.
The chapel is simple and intimate.
It doesn’t have a lot of religious images or elaborate decoration.
Instead, it sits beautifully within the greenery, with two rows of mango trees leading toward it.
I really liked it.
In fact, I started imagining myself getting married there.
But I don’t have someone to marry yet.
Hahaha!
But let’s not allow that small technical problem to stop the imagination.
The chapel is actually the size I would prefer for an intimate wedding.
I don’t need hundreds of people watching me walk down the aisle.
A small group of family and close friends would be enough.
And after the ceremony?
Well…
Lunch, swimming and maybe a nap.
That’s my kind of wedding program.
There’s a small pool beside the rice field, and I immediately thought:
This would be nice for an intimate afternoon.
Imagine spending the morning walking around the property, having lunch, then changing into swimwear and enjoying the pool around noon.
No crowds.
No rushing.
Just trees, rice fields, fresh air and water.
Of course, I still have to check the resort’s rules about pool use and whether certain arrangements are allowed.
But the idea is already there.
And honestly, I like the idea of spending an entire day here rather than just coming for lunch.
Now here’s another thing I would love to experience.
A bonfire.
If Anyag allows bonfires, I would definitely want to try that during an overnight stay.
Imagine it.
The sun has gone down.
The countryside is quiet.
You’re sitting with friends around a fire, talking about everything and nothing.
Somebody is laughing too loudly.
Somebody is telling a story that has already been told three times.
Somebody is probably checking Facebook.
And somebody—probably me—is saying:
“Guys, this is the life.”
Hahaha.
That would be a completely different Anyag experience.
The staff also deserve a mention.
From the front office to the golf-cart drivers and restaurant staff, everyone we encountered was pleasant and accommodating.
They were not just doing their jobs.
They were actually engaging with us.
The waiters were chatting with us, which made the experience more relaxed.
Our captain waiter even knew one of my graduate-school students.
He also gave us a tour of the property.
That kind of interaction makes a difference.
A beautiful resort gets you through the door.
Good people make you want to return.
Eventually, we made our way to the restaurant.
The restaurant was pleasant, well-lit and fresh, with the surrounding greenery adding to the experience.
And yes, they have Wi-Fi at the restaurant.
Very important information.
Because apparently, we can go to a beautiful countryside resort surrounded by trees and rice fields…
but we still need Wi-Fi.

No, we weren’t angry.
We were hungry.
There were four of us.
And apparently, four people looking at a menu can quickly become a small food festival.
I actually waited a few days before writing this review.
I didn’t want to write immediately after the visit because I wanted to be objective.
A review that says everything is perfect isn’t necessarily a good review.
And I don’t believe in writing something just because I like the establishment.
If something is good, I’ll say it’s good.
If something needs improvement, I’ll say that too.
Fairly.
The beef tapa was probably my favorite.
I enjoyed it.
It was flavorful and satisfying, although it was a little too sweet for my personal preference.
But overall, I liked the tapa.
And considering I am currently trying to avoid sugary food, perhaps the tapa was also testing my character.
The bistek bangus belly was okay.
Nothing bad to report.
It was enjoyable, although it wasn’t the dish that stayed in my memory after the meal.
The buffalo chicken wings were where I felt there was room for improvement.
I expected the outer coating to have that nice crisp texture.
Instead, it came across as somewhat chewy.
The taste also gave me the impression that the wings may have been sitting for a while before reaching our table.
Again, that’s based on what we experienced that particular day.
Hopefully, they’ve already improved the preparation.
The sisig was probably the bigger disappointment.
It was served on a sizzling plate.
But…
It wasn’t really sizzling.
I actually touched the plate.
It was warm, but it wasn’t hot enough to give us that wonderful sizzling experience.
And for me, that’s part of what makes sisig exciting.
I want to hear:
Tssssssssss!
I want to see the fat still melting.
I want the plate to arrive at the table like it’s making an entrance.
Instead, our sisig arrived rather quietly.
The pork was generously coated with mayonnaise.
And personally, I have absolutely no problem with that.
I love mayonnaise.
But I missed the sizzling part.
Still, we ate everything.
Because we may be critics…
but we’re not wasteful critics.
Hahaha.
The other thing we noticed was the waiting time.
Our food took quite a while to arrive.
Since the staff were friendly, we simply called the waiter and asked him to check with the kitchen.
Interestingly, the guests at the table beside us also agreed that the waiting time was quite long.
So it wasn’t just our imagination.
Our food had apparently decided to enjoy the countryside before coming to our table.
Hahaha.
But seriously, this is an area I hope the resort continues to improve.
It wasn’t a disaster.
Nobody was fighting.
Nobody fainted from hunger.
We eventually got our food and ate everything.
But when you’re positioning a resort as a premium leisure destination, service consistency becomes important.
Hopefully, the kitchen has already addressed this.
Here’s the funny part.
After everything I just told you…
I still want to come back.
That says something.
The food had some misses during our visit, but the overall experience was enjoyable.
The property is beautiful.
The landscaping is lovely.
The staff are friendly.
The accommodations are nicely positioned.
The countryside setting is authentic.
And you can see the investment.
We even asked about bringing our own food next time.
We were told that corkage is around ₱500 per dish, while lechon corkage was around ₱1,500 to ₱2,000. I’m not completely sure about the exact lechon rate, so it’s best to confirm the current amount directly with the resort.
And honestly, I understand the corkage.
Someone invested significantly in this property.
The resort has to maintain the buildings, landscaping, accommodations, facilities and staff.
And the food-and-beverage operation is part of the business.
Pricing is also relative.
What I consider expensive may be perfectly reasonable for another guest.
Our visit was only a day trip.
And that means I still haven’t experienced the resort completely.
I want to stay overnight.
I want to see the property when the sun goes down.
I want to see the lights around the trees.
I want to know how quiet the place becomes at night.
I want to wake up surrounded by greenery.
I want to try breakfast.
I want to have that noon swim.
I want to sit around a bonfire—if they allow it, of course.
And I want to experience the restaurant again.
Because maybe by the time I return, the buffalo wings will be crispier, the sisig will be properly sizzling, and the kitchen will have improved the waiting time.
And if they have?
I’ll happily write about it.
Because a good review isn’t about finding fault.
It’s about giving credit where credit is due—and giving establishments a chance to improve where they can.

Yes, it’s a little way from Granada proper.
Yes, if you’re doing a day visit, I would recommend heading home before it gets too dark.

For me, Anyag is charming.
It has character.

But it still feels connected to the countryside.
And most importantly, it made me want to come back.

And you can see it.

From Granada proper, you still have to travel quite a distance to get there.
If you’re new to the place, there may be a moment when you start wondering:
“Are we still going to Anyag?”
And then:
“Are we still in Bacolod?”
And eventually:
“Did we accidentally buy a farm?”

Some of the fruits had fallen to the ground, and that familiar aroma immediately brought back memories for me.
I love fruits.
Unfortunately, I’ve recently changed my diet and am avoiding sugary food, so I had to practice restraint.
This was difficult.
Very difficult.
But I survived.
We considered opening a marang, but then we remembered that we were riding in Doc CG’s car.
And I don’t think CG wanted his vehicle to become a mobile marang storage facility.
So we exercised maturity.
We left the marang alone.
You’re welcome, CG.
What I really liked about Anyag was the simplicity of the design.
The structures have a modern barn-inspired character, but they don’t overpower the landscape.
The landscaping is beautifully done.
The trees, open spaces, pathways, gardens, and buildings seem to work together naturally.
And that’s not easy to achieve.
Sometimes, when resorts try too hard to look luxurious, they end up looking like a furniture showroom that got lost in the countryside.
Anyag doesn’t do that.
It lets the countryside breathe.
And somehow, that’s what makes the luxury work.
The resort has several accommodations, and one thing I noticed was how they are positioned away from some of the function areas.
That’s a good thing.
If you’re staying overnight, you don’t necessarily want to hear somebody celebrating a birthday at 10 p.m. while you’re trying to sleep.
Unless, of course, you’re the one celebrating.
Hahaha.
During our visit, there was a birthday celebration happening on the property.
They also have larger spaces for bigger events, including weddings.
The smaller function room we saw was air-conditioned.
I wasn’t able to check whether the larger hall was air-conditioned, so that’s something event organizers should confirm with the resort before booking.
But visually, the spaces are attractive and well integrated into the property.
Then we reached the chapel.
And this was when my imagination started working overtime.
The chapel is simple and intimate.
It doesn’t have a lot of religious images or elaborate decoration.
Instead, it sits beautifully within the greenery, with two rows of mango trees leading toward it.
I really liked it.
In fact, I started imagining myself getting married there.
But I don’t have someone to marry yet.
Hahaha!
But let’s not allow that small technical problem to stop the imagination.
The chapel is actually the size I would prefer for an intimate wedding.
I don’t need hundreds of people watching me walk down the aisle.
A small group of family and close friends would be enough.
And after the ceremony?
Well…
Lunch, swimming and maybe a nap.
That’s my kind of wedding program.
There’s a small pool beside the rice field, and I immediately thought:
This would be nice for an intimate afternoon.
Imagine spending the morning walking around the property, having lunch, then changing into swimwear and enjoying the pool around noon.
No crowds.
No rushing.
Just trees, rice fields, fresh air and water.
Of course, I still have to check the resort’s rules about pool use and whether certain arrangements are allowed.
But the idea is already there.
And honestly, I like the idea of spending an entire day here rather than just coming for lunch.
Now here’s another thing I would love to experience.
A bonfire.
If Anyag allows bonfires, I would definitely want to try that during an overnight stay.
Imagine it.
The sun has gone down.
The countryside is quiet.
You’re sitting with friends around a fire, talking about everything and nothing.
Somebody is laughing too loudly.
Somebody is telling a story that has already been told three times.
Somebody is probably checking Facebook.
And somebody—probably me—is saying:
“Guys, this is the life.”
Hahaha.
That would be a completely different Anyag experience.
The staff also deserve a mention.
From the front office to the golf-cart drivers and restaurant staff, everyone we encountered was pleasant and accommodating.
They were not just doing their jobs.
They were actually engaging with us.
The waiters were chatting with us, which made the experience more relaxed.
Our captain waiter even knew one of my graduate-school students.
He also gave us a tour of the property.
That kind of interaction makes a difference.
A beautiful resort gets you through the door.
Good people make you want to return.
Eventually, we made our way to the restaurant.
The restaurant was pleasant, well-lit and fresh, with the surrounding greenery adding to the experience.
And yes, they have Wi-Fi at the restaurant.
Very important information.
Because apparently, we can go to a beautiful countryside resort surrounded by trees and rice fields…
but we still need Wi-Fi.
Hahaha.
Maybe we haven’t completely escaped civilization after all.
For lunch, we ordered:
Buffalo Chicken Wings
Beef Tapa
Bistek Bangus Belly
Sisig
No, we weren’t angry.
We were hungry.
There were four of us.
And apparently, four people looking at a menu can quickly become a small food festival.
I actually waited a few days before writing this review.
I didn’t want to write immediately after the visit because I wanted to be objective.
A review that says everything is perfect isn’t necessarily a good review.
And I don’t believe in writing something just because I like the establishment.
If something is good, I’ll say it’s good.
If something needs improvement, I’ll say that too.
Fairly.
The beef tapa was probably my favorite.
I enjoyed it.
It was flavorful and satisfying, although it was a little too sweet for my personal preference.
But overall, I liked the tapa.
And considering I am currently trying to avoid sugary food, perhaps the tapa was also testing my character.
The bistek bangus belly was okay.
Nothing bad to report.
It was enjoyable, although it wasn’t the dish that stayed in my memory after the meal.
The buffalo chicken wings were where I felt there was room for improvement.
I expected the outer coating to have that nice crisp texture.
Instead, it came across as somewhat chewy.
The taste also gave me the impression that the wings may have been sitting for a while before reaching our table.
Again, that’s based on what we experienced that particular day.
Hopefully, they’ve already improved the preparation.
The sisig was probably the bigger disappointment.
It was served on a sizzling plate.
But…
It wasn’t really sizzling.
I actually touched the plate.
It was warm, but it wasn’t hot enough to give us that wonderful sizzling experience.
And for me, that’s part of what makes sisig exciting.
I want to hear:
Tssssssssss!
I want to see the fat still melting.
I want the plate to arrive at the table like it’s making an entrance.
Instead, our sisig arrived rather quietly.
The pork was generously coated with mayonnaise.
And personally, I have absolutely no problem with that.
I love mayonnaise.
But I missed the sizzling part.
Still, we ate everything.
Because we may be critics…
but we’re not wasteful critics.
Hahaha.
The other thing we noticed was the waiting time.
Our food took quite a while to arrive.
Since the staff were friendly, we simply called the waiter and asked him to check with the kitchen.
Interestingly, the guests at the table beside us also agreed that the waiting time was quite long.
So it wasn’t just our imagination.
Our food had apparently decided to enjoy the countryside before coming to our table.
Hahaha.
But seriously, this is an area I hope the resort continues to improve.
It wasn’t a disaster.
Nobody was fighting.
Nobody fainted from hunger.
We eventually got our food and ate everything.
But when you’re positioning a resort as a premium leisure destination, service consistency becomes important.
Hopefully, the kitchen has already addressed this.
Here’s the funny part.
After everything I just told you…
I still want to come back.
That says something.
The food had some misses during our visit, but the overall experience was enjoyable.
The property is beautiful.
The landscaping is lovely.
The staff are friendly.
The accommodations are nicely positioned.
The countryside setting is authentic.
And you can see the investment.
We even asked about bringing our own food next time.
We were told that corkage is around ₱500 per dish, while lechon corkage was around ₱1,500 to ₱2,000. I’m not completely sure about the exact lechon rate, so it’s best to confirm the current amount directly with the resort.
And honestly, I understand the corkage.
Someone invested significantly in this property.
The resort has to maintain the buildings, landscaping, accommodations, facilities and staff.
And the food-and-beverage operation is part of the business.
Pricing is also relative.
What I consider expensive may be perfectly reasonable for another guest.
Our visit was only a day trip.
And that means I still haven’t experienced the resort completely.
I want to stay overnight.
I want to see the property when the sun goes down.
I want to see the lights around the trees.
I want to know how quiet the place becomes at night.
I want to wake up surrounded by greenery.
I want to try breakfast.
I want to have that noon swim.
I want to sit around a bonfire—if they allow it, of course.
And I want to experience the restaurant again.
Because maybe by the time I return, the buffalo wings will be crispier, the sisig will be properly sizzling, and the kitchen will have improved the waiting time.
And if they have?
I’ll happily write about it.
Because a good review isn’t about finding fault.
It’s about giving credit where credit is due—and giving establishments a chance to improve where they can.
Anyag Leisure Farm & Resort is one of those places that reminds you that you don’t have to travel far to find a beautiful countryside escape.
Yes, it’s a little way from Granada proper.
Yes, if you’re doing a day visit, I would recommend heading home before it gets too dark.
But once you arrive, you understand why the journey is worth it.
The rice fields.
The fruit trees.
The marang.
The rambutan.
The mango-lined pathways.
The chapel.
The pool.
The accommodations.
The event spaces.
The restaurant.
The friendly staff.
And that unmistakable feeling that somebody really invested in making this place beautiful.
For me, Anyag is charming.
It has character.
It has luxury.
But it still feels connected to the countryside.
And most importantly, it made me want to come back.
Perhaps next time I’ll stay overnight.
Maybe I’ll swim at noon.
Maybe I’ll sit beside a bonfire.
Maybe I’ll eat breakfast under the trees.
Maybe I’ll smell the marang again.
And who knows?
Maybe I’ll stand in front of that chapel again and think about marriage.

There are places where you arrive and say, “Nice.”
Then there are places where you arrive and immediately think, “Okay, somebody really spent for this!”
That was my first reaction when I visited Anyag Leisure Farm & Resort in Granada, Bacolod City.
I was with my friends Doc CG Hisona, Doc Lei Lani, and Mark, and our mission was quite simple: have lunch, explore the property, and of course, check out what this countryside resort is all about.
We were not exactly on a serious inspection mission.
Well… maybe I was.
The others were probably more interested in lunch.
But as soon as we entered Anyag, I knew this wasn’t going to be just another lunch trip.
The place is lovely.
It breathes luxury.
And you can immediately tell that the owner didn’t just casually throw a few buildings onto a five-hectare property and say, “Okay, resort na!”
There was clearly a vision—and money—behind this place.
And you can see it.
Anyag is located at HDA Sto. Domingo in Granada, Bacolod City.
From Granada proper, you still have to travel quite a distance to get there.
If you’re new to the place, there may be a moment when you start wondering:
“Are we still going to Anyag?”
And then:
“Are we still in Bacolod?”
And eventually:
“Did we accidentally buy a farm?”
Hahaha.
But seriously, don’t worry.
The roads are good, so the drive isn’t a problem.
My only concern is what happens when you decide to stay until late afternoon and then suddenly realize that you’re heading back in the dark.
Some portions of the road don’t have much lighting, so if you’re doing a day visit, I would suggest leaving before it gets too late.
Unless…
you decide to stay overnight.
And after seeing the property, that suddenly sounds like a very good idea.
Once you enter the property, you need to stop at the first building to register.
Of course, you need to park your car first.
Unless you want to register while still inside the vehicle.
Hahaha.
From there, golf carts can take you around the property or bring you to the restaurant.
And that’s when you start appreciating how big the place actually is.
Anyag sits on about five hectares and combines accommodations, dining, leisure areas, event spaces, gardens, orchards, and agricultural surroundings.
It doesn’t feel like a resort pretending to be a farm.
The farm is actually part of the experience.
One side of the property opens toward an active and fertile rice field.
And I loved that.
There is something very refreshing about seeing an actual rice field while you’re staying at what is otherwise a beautifully designed leisure resort.
Then you start noticing the fruit trees.
Anyag feels like an orchard.
There were rambutan trees dotted around the property, and during our visit, they were showing off their bright red fruits.
They were so red and abundant that even if you weren’t hungry, you would probably start thinking about eating them.
