Splendid long sandbars that are stretching on both sides of the area are what Kalanggaman Island, Leyte, Philippines. Located at the Palompon municipality, the Island is sometimes considered to be a small version of Boracay Island having clear blue water and white sand that is powder-like.
It is open to the public but only 500 tourists in a day are allowed by the local government (tourism) to avoid congestion thus preserving the beauty of the place. It is 753m long, uninhabited, and doesn’t have private resorts around; hence, allowing visitors to camp overnight if they wished. Swimming, kayaking, scuba diving, aqua biking, snorkeling, and camping are some of the activities to do on this island.

Location: Municipality of Palompon, Leyte
Below are various ways to reach the place. From Manila, you can either take a flight to Tacloban City, Ormoc City, or Cebu City. If coming from Tacloban, you can travel by van to Palompon; and if from Cebu, take a taxi to Pier 3 and from there, you can travel by fast boat (SuperCat) going to Ormoc then van to Palompon.
From Tacloban
From Tacloban, take a van for Palompon. Proceed to the Tourism office to hire a pump boat for Kalanggaman Island, Leyte, Philippines.
From Naval
Take a van and alight Lemon Junction. Take another van for Palompon.
From Manila
Take a plane to Ormoc. From Ormoc City take a van for Palompon. Proceed to the Tourism Office to hire a boat for the island.
