The MassKara Queen 2012 Final 10 candidates went on an ecological awareness trip to Danjugan Island in Brgy. Bulata, Cauayan over the weekend for their swimwear photo shoot.
Before the scheduled shoot, the ladies first underwent a brief session and an actual exposure on environment conservation and appreciation of nature, especially pertaining to the reef and rainforest which is abundant on the island. They were also made to experience planting mangroves and picking up trash by the seashore.
ABS-CBN Bacolod MagTV na Amiga host and MQ 2012 Executive Producer Carmela Gamboa said this was to prepare the candidates for questions that may come up pertaining to ecology and conservation during the coronation night, “so that they would not only have mere answers to the questions but by heart, have actually experienced it.”
Danjugan Island is being managed and operated by the Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation, Inc.
The MQ 2012 is a production of ABS-CBN Bacolod in partnership with the Silver MassKara Festival Organization, Inc. It is in its 6th staging now under the mantle of the local Kapamilya station*
