Business and Leisure at Zayco Land Resort and Hotel

One of the best  bonus I get from being a corporate trainer is to see and enjoy places at the expense of my client.

For almost three (3) years now, INTRASPEC  with yours truly being the speaker   is  being tapped by the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF) to conduct a  Personnel Effectiveness Workshop for all their staff all over the Visayan Region.
This weekend I had the opportunity once again to have business and leisure at Zayco Land Resort and Hotel courtesy of this organization.

92.6 Kilometer away from Bacolod City, we traveled a little more than two hours with a private car to reached the  Zaycoland Resort & Hotel.  If you are coming from Dumaguete City, you can reach the place in 3 hours ride.

As soon as we reached the resort, I immediately felt the Hacienda Life: Wide garden, abundant foliage, palm trees and fresh air.

The al fresco lobby of the hotel gives you a relaxing  feeling. The furniture  in lobby were  of natural materials and fibers. The rooms were all well kept and smell really fresh.

The function room that was given to us was huge, perfect for all the team building activities I have prepared for the seminar. I was more impressed  realizing that they change the color motif of our function every day giving me a fresh feeling every morning I entered the room: red on our first day, green on our 2^nd day and lilac on our third day. Fresh flower arrangement also adorned our function room making our seminar special.

The grounds of the resort are wide so I can execute all the outdoor activities I prepared for my trainees. Next to the air-conditioned function hall is an al fresco dining hall which most parties are being held. Fronting this open hall is a wide garden  and a pool  perfect for a garden wedding and parties.

I can see how this place has been preferred by most people for their functions  because, in the weekend where I stayed there, 2 garden weddings were being held.

But more than the amenities which I admired from this place, what touches me most is the service and the warmth of the people the Zayco Land has. Starting from the Front Office Personnel, one can easily say the effort they do to delight their customers. The waiter who was serving us were all young, but you can really say that they were good natured fellows.

For the entire duration of my training, waiters were always waiting and has been attentive to my signals whenever I need help. There was a stationed personnel taking care of my audio and another trying to figure out whether the airconditioned were working very well – a five-star service!

On my second day, I passed the front office to make a call and I was greeted warmly by the staff with my name: “ Yes, sir Jojo? How May I help you?” To my mind wow she knew me, maybe she was one of my students before in college. So I asked her, “ Did you finish your college from LCC?” (LCC is a school where I used to teach). Then she replied, No sir Jojo, actually I am an undergraduate. Then I just realize, she didn’t know personally but she gave me a real  warmth greeting making me feel special. Wow!, I exclaimed, I don’t normally get these  service and warmth  even from a five-star hotel.

The food at Zyco Land were not really that amazing (but not bad). But I didn’t mind anymore because it was nothing compared to the comfort I get from their service.

I will surely come back and recommend this place to my other client for my future training engagements.

How to get there

Kabankalan is less than two hours drive south of Bacolod city by a private car while public utility vehicles reach the place in about two hours. The city, which serves as the center of economic activities in southern Negros, is also the take-off point for various destinations down south and links the province to Dumaguete City, the capital of nearby Negros Oriental via Kabankalan-Mabinay.
