BOHOL TRIP PART 1: LAKESIDE VIEW COTTAGE INN, NWTF TRAINING
Contents
I was invited once again by Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF) to conduct a Personnel Effectiveness Training for their employees. I was actually conducting this training for NWTF for 4 years already and for this time, I will be conducting this training for their employees in Bohol Area. I was excited as this was my first time to visit Bohol though a long time ago I had already reached the ports of Tagbilaran and Tubigon, I didn’t have the opportunity to explore the Island know for its Chocolate Hills and tarsiers. From Bacolod, we took the plane late in the afternoon as we were planning to have an overnight stay in Cebu before going to Tagbilaran. We took the 8:30 am trip. Below are the schedules of Supercat (Cebu-Tagbilaran Route)

Outdoor activity for our training
The trip took about 2 hours, and I was a bit annoyed by the group of foreigners who were with us in business class who were very noisy. Actually, it was their Filipino guide who is the loudest of all, I seemed to feel that he was trying to show off his facility of the language with some twang. Oh well, I am a “Happy Tripper” and I don’t want to spoil some “trips”, so when seeing some vacant seats on the side which were quite far from the group I just transferred and tried to sleep. When we arrived at Tagbilaran we’ve decided just to take out some food from a fast food chain because we were not that hungry yet. From the port, we took a tricycle to bring us to the bus station going to Guindulman. The bus terminal is just in front if the new Island City Mall in Tagbilaran. Guindulman can be reached by bus or van for PhP 110/pax for 2 hours. Theses are air-conditioned vehicles so no need to worry. As soon as we arrived at the Public Market, we took a tricycle to bring us to our seminar venue, The Lakeside View Cottage Inn, and Resort.
The venue became perfect for our training as we were the only occupants of the resort, so we can have our loudest noise and do whatever we wanted without the thought that others might be disturbed
LAKESIDE COTTAGE INN AND RESORT The Lakeside cottage Inn and Resort is basically new approximately more than 2 years. They have the main pavilion which is being used for some events like parties, etc. They don’t have function rooms for meetings and training, rather they have 4 large karaoke rooms which we converted into a training room. The whole resort is spacious and not really frequented by locals, so it was a perfect venue for some of my outdoor activities. We were the only guests at that time because the participants will be arriving on the date of the training. So I really felt the quietness and the rural ambiance. Well, I don’t really mind because the place has WIFI, so I can still work even if I’m away from home. The accommodations are the basic bahay kubo (but air-conditioned ). They charge PhP 1,000 for each kubo and it can actually accommodate 3 people. I was given the whole kubo by myself. They have a pool that is well maintained but I didn’t swim because I was quite busy answering some emails and some business inquiries. The food of Lakeside view was quite ok, I just found it a bit pricey.
ABOUT GUINDULMAN Guindulman is a third class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. In the olden days, names of certain places were sometimes ascribed to some usual or common incidents or occurrences as the case of the town of Guindulman. The place was originally called Guinduluman, derived from a vernacular expression which means “something or somebody who is undertaken by darkness”, from the root word dulom (or du’om in short) which means “dark”. From Tagbilaran to Guindulman is approximately 84 km and it would take an approximately 2 hrs to travel by land to get to Guindulman.
one of the snack set served to us: hot chocolate which they called in Bohol “sikwati”, and suman

I want more photos of the Lakeside Cottage Inn Resort! It looks like a really nice place for a family vacation.
We’re about to go on a trip to Bohol but this friend of ours backed out and can’t offer their house there. Too bad I won’t be able to explore Bohol when I want to!
I am a little envious because you are invited and at the same time, you are travelling a lot. Rooting for your success. Congrats!
Bohol will always be one of my favorite places in the Philippines. I like it more than Boracay ( that’s just me ).
Ang saya naman, you guys were allowed to have exclusive use of the place.
Bohol is a nice place and you have such a nice training area sir jojo! looks relaxing too!
I can relate to the noisy people in the plane but it’s good you kept your composure. The place looks perfect for a family getaway.
Lucky that there’s no other people in the place and for sure you had so much fun there! I’ve never been to this city but would love to visit it someday. I only enjoy resorts if they have nice pools and of course WIFI ^ ^
Thanks for sharing!
The place is perfect! I’ve never been here and with your post, I’d love to visit it when we come home to PH.
