Its quite easy to reach Tibiao Fish Spa because it is located right along the highway of Barangay Palawan, Tibiao, Antique

That was almost 5 PM when we arrived at Tibiao Fish Spa in Tibiao, Antique. The place is just located along the road and is perfect for any travelers who would want to stay in Antique.

Apart from their famous Tibiao Fish Spa which uses locally bred TheraFish from Tibiao, Antique. The place has some rooms for any travelers.

We were meet personally by no less than the Tourism Officer of Antique Flord Nicson J. Calawag and the brother of the owner of Tibiao Fish Spa. While our room is being prepared, Flord Nicson offered us some locally produced wine. We tasted the Bignay Wine which we enjoyed so much because of its fruity and familiar taste.

Realizing that we really enjoyed the wine, Flord Nicson offered to bring us to its manufacturer . That was dark already and raining, but since  Maricar brought her car we were able to reach the place.

Upon reaching the mansion of Dr. & Mrs. Miguel Labrague we were cordially received by the couple who are both retirees from Delaware and came home to Tibiao, Antique after many years of working abroad. Actually, it was Mrs. Labrague, a retired nurse who is doing the wine in her spare time. At the place, we were able to taste other flavors such as the Passion Fruit and Bika-Bika ( a variety of wild grapes growing in the area). We had a great time chatting with the couple who were obviously warm-hearted individuals.

After the visit to the Labrague couple, Flord Nicson brought us to Mamma Mia an Italian Restaurant in Tibiao , Antique. We had a heavy treat of pizza and seafood pasta at the place. We didn’t stay long at the restuarant because we still wanted to experience the Fish Spa and the Kawa Hot Bath offered by Tibiao Fish Spa.

Our Fish Spa experience started with a quick foot wash followed by dipping our feet in the water with the small fishes. We can’t stop laughing on the first few minutes  having the  fishes tickling and nibbling our feet.

After the fish spa we also tried the Kawa Hot Bath which was very relaxing.

It was just a quick stop in Tibiao Antique because we were heading for Malalison Island. We realized we need more days to experience more of what the place can offer. If given the opportunity, I would definitely  like to go back to experience other destinations and adventures  offered by the places such as  Bogtong Bato Falls, White Water Kayaking, Lambaklad Fishing, Canyoneering and much more.

HOW TO GET TO TIBIAO FISH SPA:

The nearest airport in Antique is the  Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (Caticlan International Airport) which is also serving Boracay, Aklan. From the airport, you can reach Tibiao for an hour and a half (82.6 km) away.Tibiao Fish Spa is just beside the road, so just ask the driver to drop you at the place.

From Iloilo City

You can also reach Tibiao, Antique from Iloilo City at  3-4 hour drive covering 172 km.

At the Molo Bus Terminal, buses and vans plying the Iloilo-Caticlan or Iloilo-Culasi or Iloilo-Libertad route can take you directly to Tibiao, Antique.
