The LCC Bacolod MBA Students with the Yellowdot Transport Bus. This bus company will soon be seen in the Bacolod City and around the country.

The La Consolacion College Bacolod MBA group would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to the following: YellowDot Transport for sponsoring our vehicle. Dean Ditas Joson, Ph.D., our Head, Nenette Padilla, Ph.D. and all the students who participated and make this tour fun and enjoyable. The experience made our MBA journey even more memorable.

Stressful workloads, overwhelming responsibilities, workplace issues, and difficult colleagues around – these things are but what makes up the most of the week of any working individual. With all the stressors present, to find time to relax, break free from all of these life’s hustles and find solitude is a dream come true for any working millennial.

How good the universe must be, for conspiring to allow the planned weekend getaway of LCC Graduate School Students (MBA/MBA-HRM) comes into reality. At last! After all the preparations, few disagreements, and transportation conflicts, as the expression goes “Ang drawing, macoloran na! 😀 Last October 20-21, 2018, a group of 28 MBA/MBA-HRM students of La Consolacion College – School of Graduate Studies have teamed up to go for a tour in the Negros Island’s City of Gentle people – DUMAGUETE.

Located only 8.5 kilometers west from the heart of Negros Oriental, Dumaguete City, Tejero Highland Resort and Adventure Park were the team’s chosen place for an overnight stay. Upon entrance at around 3 PM, several terrain vehicles were parked along the road. Rides, zip line, pools, caught our eyes as we approached the resort, which ignited the excitement in us.

It’s kinda cool that there are fruit stands and tiange stalls outside if you need to buy some things you forgot to bring. The opposite sides are different rental bikes to go to the mountains or wherever you wish to go to see the scenery. This place is fun, especially for children.

However, after a long day of travel, the first thing on our minds was to take a little rest, thinking that we still have few places to visit, before ending the day. As such, we headed immediately to our rooms. As we moved our way up, there were sights of mini restaurants, food stalls, minibars with impressive architecture. Decorative garden and mini-landscape designs didn’t also miss to melt our eyes. Balay cottages were also available to chill, chat, relax and made us feel so at home.

As soon as we arrived at our room on the 2nd floor, we were delighted to see a clear view of the relaxing sight of the whole resort. Since we were a group of 28, we were assigned to a fan room good for five next to the pool. Towels are available, has a private bathroom but no heater for the shower. Though the room isn’t air-conditioned, the mountain breeze was enough to give us the rest we needed.

After settling down, we went to Dumaguete City proper for our dinner and for a short stroll at the Boulevard.

Fast forward to our remaining itineraries, we returned at Tejero Resort at around 8 pm. Our team had a Hawaiian Night Party planned beforehand, so the swimming pools, the night lights, the cool breeze of the highlands, were just perfect to complement the plan. The pool was spacious to cater our games and poolside-picnic-inspired party.

On our few hours of stay, we realized that the resort offers much more than what we expected.

We can see that they are offering fun & adventure rides as well as teambuilding facility. We very well remembered the slogan of the resort posted in their front desk: Tejero Highlands Resort, “your next team building destination,” and we can’t help but be curious about this. Sadly, due to time constraints, we have not tried the said facility coz we only stayed there for a couple of hours. It may sound a cliche, but we must say “It’s more fun in Tejero!” if we get the chance to experience it ourselves. 🙂

Indeed, Tejero Highland Resort and Adventure Park is an excellent place if you’re with a group. Not only that is decent, but the place also provides budget-friendly facilities for recreation and leisure. Whether with family or friends, bonding is at its finest at this very impressive highland resort. The cool breeze relaxes the senses, leaving you with happy thoughts that you’ll remember forever.

Surely, if chances and time permits, we will not hesitate to come back the next time we go for a tour in Valencia. We would highly recommend this to others mostly to our group of friends wanting a fun, relaxed, budget-friendly holiday. What more can we say? We shall never forget it. ‘Til we meet again, Tejero!

4.Travel light. Each will have their own bath towels, so you don’t need to bring any anymore since this is provided along with the room accommodation.
5. If you are traveling with the whole family especially if you are bringing along your kids, make sure to watch over them always. Accidents always happen, so better be cautious than to be sorry.
6. Bring enough food for everybody, even though they have a cafeteria and restaurant, they are only open for a period of time – – – not open 24hrs.
7. Bring as well a small medicine kit in cases of emergency.
8. You may go to Dumaguete Boulevard and enjoy the nightlife and listen to the bands that play music before you finally doze off to sleep. You can stroll along the boulevard coastline before or after you have taken your dinner within the area.
