My trip to Uluwatu Temple in Bali was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I traveled with three other people from the Philippines, and we decided to hire a local guide with a car to bring us around the area. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and he helped us navigate the temple and its surroundings with ease.

Uluwatu Temple is one of Bali’s most popular tourist destinations. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, the temple is a marvel of ancient architecture and a sacred site for the Balinese people. Visiting the place is an experience that should not be missed, and there are many things to see and do in the area.

Food in  Uluwatu Temple, Bali

There are many food stalls in the area surrounding the place. We tried some of the local specialties, such as nasi goreng and satay, and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Getting to  Uluwatu Temple, Bali

To get to the site, we hired a local guide with a car. This made our trip much easier, as we didn’t have to worry about navigating the area on our own. If you prefer to travel independently, you can rent a scooter or take a taxi to the temple. Just be sure to leave plenty of time for traffic, as Bali’s roads can be congested.

Monkeys

One thing to be cautious of when visiting Uluwatu Temple is the monkeys that inhabit the area. These monkeys are known to be mischievous and may try to steal food or belongings, so it’s a good idea to keep a safe distance and avoid feeding them.

Dress Code at  Uluwatu Temple, Bali

The place is a sacred site, and visitors are expected to dress appropriately. This means wearing a sarong , which can be rented at the entrance. It’s also a good idea to wear comfortable shoes, as there are many stairs to climb around the temple.

 

Stairs

One of the most memorable aspects of Uluwatu Temple is the climb up the stairs to the top. The stairs are steep and can be a bit challenging, but the view from the top is well worth the effort. The ocean stretches out as far as the eye can see, and the temple itself is a marvel of ancient architecture.

Kecak Dance Performance | Uluwatu Temple, Bali

As the sun began to set, we found a spot to sit and watch the Kecak dance performance, which takes place every evening at the temple. The performance was mesmerizing, and the sound of the chanting and drumming echoed through the temple.

Overall, our experience at Uluwatu Temple was unforgettable. The beauty and serenity of this sacred site are truly awe-inspiring, and it’s no wonder that it’s such a popular tourist destination. Whether traveling with a guide or independently, be sure to wear appropriate clothing, be cautious of the monkeys, and bring a camera to capture the incredible views.
