TAGAYTAY AND IT’S HOTELS
Please click here for the Tagaytay Travel Guide
Living in a tropical climate where it is mostly high in temperature than lower ones, one would always think of things to beat the heat – like traveling to cold places. But, if you just need some hours of the day to have chill and relaxation, by having coffee or eat fine foods, traveling all the way to North can be a hassle and will just eat up hours of travel time. Luckily enough, the Southern part of Luzon offers the same mild climate; with just 59 kilometers away from Manila, an area is a popular place where people are going for a quick getaway.
Though it has been confusing for some whether Tagaytay is located in Batangas or Cavite, the fact is that it is part of the province of Cavite and is a second-class city. It gives a perfect view of the Taal Volcano and Taal Lake that is a part of Batangas province. There are said to be two histories on where the name of the city came from. The first one is from a legend that it is from the words “taga” which means to cut and “itay” which means father. The words are said to be heard from a crying son that is shouting to his father that’s been attacked by wild boar. The second one is that the word Tagaytay actually means “ridge” in Tagalog as the place is located along a ridge.
There are a lot of tourist spots that the city has to offer. There are places that offer nature kind of views like the People’s Park in the Sky, it is located at Cavite’s highest peak which is Mount Sungay. For a picnic-style of bonding, Picnic Grove is the place where families go to. The place doesn’t only offers tables for picnics, but a zip line as well for a more fun experience. Another place that offers zip line activity is Sky Ranch. It is a theme park that caters mostly to kids having rides like Mini Viking, Express Train, Wonder Flight, and Red Baron; on the other hand, kids-at-heart can also enjoy as some rides can be for adults as well, like the Super Viking, Nessi Coaster, Top and Dancer, and Grand Carousel. Out of all the rides in the park, Sky Eye (an air-conditioned Ferris Wheel) is the most popular one as it can give you a stunning view of the place for 10 minutes.
Tagaytay also has a lot of hotels and inns where visitors who wanted to stay for a night or two can have a comfortable place to relax. As mentioned in the first part of the article, a quick get-away is also what the city is popular as it offers a wide range of restaurants and cafes that are all nice places to have a chill afternoon or any time of the day. On the other hand, the city is also very popular for wedding destinations (from the pre-nuptial activity up to the ceremony itself), especially for those couples who wish to have a garden wedding on their special day.

True, the traffic is really quite a problem. Nonetheless, it’s still worth the trouble 🙂
