MANGGAHAN FESTIVAL
Guimaras is well-known as one of the best summer destinations in the country due to its pristine beaches. But more than that, the place has thousands of things to offer. There are still unexplored resources, and natural beauties far from anyone could imagine. With the rich historical heritage of Guimaras, one would surely feel amazed at how the place evolved into what it is today. Starting from the Spaniards, Americans down to the Japanese, they all felt that something is unique and amazing with the place. It was only after World War II that the place has been free from colonizers and they began to gather the left pieces together and build a better and stronger society. With the hand-in-hand efforts of the locals, the island once again achieved its glorious beauty making it as one of the top tourist destinations in the entire country. Additionally, the place is also the HOME of the sweetest MANGOES in the world.
In celebrating the Manggahan festival, the five municipalities (Buenavista, Jordan, Nueva Valencia, San Lorenzo, and Sibunag) prepare and organize for the entire festivity. It is a month-long (month of May) celebration that aims to showcase the richness of the culture of the entire Guimaras. Additionally, it is also a form of giving back and a thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest of Mangga (mangoes). Tracing back its history, it was only being celebrated before like a week celebration, but as the years go by, it has become a month-long celebration.
So what are the special events that can be enjoyed at the Manggahan festival? Well, there is a lot of entertaining activates which you may enjoy depending on your field of interest. But whatever it may be, the Manggahan festival has got it ready for you. One highlight of the event is the cultural show prepared by different Barangays. It is in the form of a drama, and the performing groups will dance gracefully along with majestic singing, wearing, of course, their personalized costumes. You might want to enjoy this show and feast your eyes as you watch how the people of Guimaras come up with world-class presentations. Another delightful activity which you may find in this celebration is the “Mango All You Can,” You will have to register for only one hundred pesos, and you get to enter the place filled with different mango food and delicacies. You will be given the total time of thirty minutes to go around and eat everything that you would like to eat. Sounds convenient right? Not only you will get to taste the delicious food prepared by the locals, but you will also get to know different recipes!
If you have your kids with you, you better bring them to the public place where they could play and interact with the official mascot of the Manggahan Festival, Mango Man! Isn’t that a whole family recreational activity? You get to enjoy the adult-related festivities while making sure that your kids are also enjoying the company of the official mascot along with the other kids.
If you are ready to awaken the artist in you, feel free to visit the exhibit fair located in the plaza. There are available handmade and indigenous products that you can choose from and buy. And of course, you can also shop for different types of Mangoes in this fair. Other activities on Manggahan Festival include an exhibit in the museum, fireworks display, Mr.Guimaras, and Mutya ng Guimaras. Visit Guimaras and fall in love with the place and of the culture!

If I’m a Teacher of the class and I would bring them at Manggahan Festival to witness the performance of every tribe and to taste their sweet mango. And if I have students who has behavioral problems I will calm my self and talk to them and ask them what is the promblem. First you must tell him or her that turn your negative thinking to positive one because Dealing with children who exhibit challenging behavior is one of the most difficult challenges you may face in the class especially when going on the fieldtrip. Not only does the child interfere with your ability to teach a lesson while maintaining control, but they also disrupt the productivity of the entire class. Children who exhibit challenging behavior do not usually do so ‘just because they want to.’ There is usually a reason for their behavior, or it may be their only way of communicating with you that something is wrong. Every action is a form of communication. As a result, it’s critical that you understand the causes of challenging behavior and know what strategies will help you deal with it. Dealing with children who exhibit challenging behavior is one of the most difficult challenges you may face in the classroom.
